So we have real life reality - Meh graphics, horrible playerbase and the gameplay is bad
Then we have video game reality - Mostly good graphics, playerbase varies from game to game as does gameplay
Problem is and it happens with each game is that ppl decide to merge the 2
So take the vehicle argument
LAV driver - I hit you, you should die
Infantry - Im in a powered dropsuit i should at least dent you or stop you or even take no damage and dish damage to you
Reality guy - Well i survived a 40mph car hitting me herp a derp
Problem is in a game like DUST the real life reality guy cant quite make it because in DUST its a future tech space game where as he would be better off in BF3 for example as it tries and fails badly to be based on tech in the here and now and tries to accuratly portray it which it also fails at
Another example
RPG can take out a modern tank
In BF3 this is true, 3 will kill it
In real life it tends to be mostly bollocks, it may disable it but not kill it out right into a wreck unless they have all day to shoot at it
In DUST our tanks are so far into the future that we use shields to protect the armor and we use minerals that we have never heard of before to make them
For me the real life argument never flies in DUST for long because its a video game which is set into the future where we have managed to clone ourselves and conquer the majority of space while being able to harvest moons and mine astroids
So while yes your dropsuit is powered and stronger that LAV has also gone through the same process of being upgraded so its made out of stronger lighter materials
We should seperate the 2 and forget about RL argument and instead focus on the balance |

Agree, this is a game. Like a game of chess. We have pieces there to play with, named after and reasembling real life objects but moving with accordance to rules set for them in game. period. |

If dust is the future, then explain how we still get stuck on a one inch high rock and can not move? Yet that same one inch rock I can easily traverse in every other single game, future or present day. It is not about reality vs future warfare, it is about poor hit detection, getting stuck on a one inch rock, and most importantly, terrible framerate drops that are worse than any game i have ever played.

I haven't got stuck in awhile. Maybe it's just you? Also, don't keep your PS3 on for too long. That fucks with your FPS. There, I fixed your problem.

Because its still a game and that is problems with the engine or the player models getting hung up on terrain
