so the more I think of the subject, the more it turns into a new faction game mode. Earlier today I helped secure a victory for the Gallente on Odamia XI and pushed the remaining Caldari forces off the planet rendering 100% of Odamia XI to Gallente control. After a satisfying win I began looking at the remaining planets in Odamia. Only 4 districts remained in Caldari hands, and I wanted them. But how? Perhaps with Mercenary Plexing. A data center building contains a plexing control board that can be used to request districts for attacking. Several successful plexing requests will plex the requested district into availability in the battle finder.
data centers - maybe they have a series of chambers with doors that can be hacked open or closed. In the center the plexing chamber resides with a star map like console. The player inside uses the star map to choose the district they would like to plex which initiates the beginning of a plex data spike. Enemies can hack the terminal to cancel spikes. After a spike cycle the plexing control resets neutral awaiting another plex request. Perhaps after ## accumulated plex spikes a district becomes one of the next available battle grounds in faction war. |

Faction war star map could show a plexing percentage on the district?
Counter plexing? Maybe this requests a longer time before the district becomes available for attack?

Hackable doors - these doors open/close vertically and have 1 control on each side operable by 1 player each. Doors open from the bottom and incrementally open/close with the control panel. The merc with the better hacking will win the 1v1 tug of war. Partially open doors will allow grenades and low angle gunfire. Maybe they reset open/closed if nobody is operating them. |

Where would these facilities be located? How many plexing sites? 1 per star, 1 per constellation? How often can a facility be used ? Constantly? Once per hour? Would it remain offline until the plexed district battle was finished?

This would be epic since I spend most of my time plexing for Amarr out in Devoid. |

It sounds fun to me and would add a little little more player influence to Dust Faction War. I'd prefer a chance to organize a group and choose specific planets to plex into control, instead of just fighting randomly generated districts that potentially have no EvE counterpart in that area at that time.
This could help epic collaboration between Capsuleers and Mercenaries |

The ability to focus our side would be a nice addition. Maybe I want to spend the weekend taking 33% of Verge Vender region from the Caldari, or reclaiming some of the 67% in Essence region to help reinforce a Gallente blockade/last stand in Jeon. Let's help 'Choose Our War' |

12 hours later, Odamia XI remains in Gallente hands while Caldari still hold 4 districts in the Odamia System.
How do we force a battle on a particular district for Faction War?

Good topic OP. I have been thinking about plexing lately and see it as a great alternative to PC. Plexing is much more fluid and would allow more participation across the board as well as foster in-game alliances between corps. To take it a step further, what if PC happened like plexing for system in EVE. Instead of the daily attack time, the fight for a planet was more fluid, allowing players to join in at will and organize coordinated attacks. An ongoing battle that people could join or leave over an extended period of time.

Definitely a good topic and great idea with a lot of poential.
This would go a long way towards making FW more about just being able to choose a side for the queued up battles.... It would make the 4-5 minute warbarge wait a little more bearable.
Can we get a GM to move this to the feedback/request area so it has a better chance of getting some DEV visibility?

Actually, I have wanted CCP to get rid of Instant Battles and only have Faction Warface and PC. Different FW battles would require different modes, Like Domination for 1 FW location, Ambush for another location.
The game "Tries" to keep us near EVE pilots, but the battle on the ground must always march on. |

Thanks to the wonders of context, I'm staring to understand what the suggestion is. +1
However I think CCP probably need to be able to control the rate at which faction conflicts progress. Perhaps this would compromise that. |

EvE side faction conflicts are 100% determined by players, some similar freedoms in Dust would be nice. |

Is there any info or plans from CCP regarding faction war progress? I know PC has been in a lot of discussion and am hoping they aren't focusing too hard on one aspect of the game. Maybe our new Community Representative CCP Mintchip can stir up a response of some sort? |
