So as it stands right now there is actually zero distinction from regular skirmish for factional warfare matches. The rewards are the same. The only difference is that you can theoretically stack the team more, and you have a much longer wait in the war barge before the match.
My proposal is that it be more of a "hardcore casual" mode for people who are perhaps a little more invested in the game but aren't able to find the time for PC.
A good start would be to increase the risk/reward. Give no WP or ISK for losing, or a severely diminished reward. Move the same salvage and reward scheme from PC to this mode so that players who are producing in the match are rewarded more heavily, and the team who wins should get a much larger reward.
There are lots of ways CCP could add distinction to this mode, but as it stands there's no reason for DUST mercs to give a **** about EVE-based factional warfare gains and losses, so the mode is really just Skirmish with different planet names.
I would love to see other people's ideas on how this mode could be made a little more "challenging" to attract a higher level of play. |

I like the diminished rewards for being defeated and I think the FW loot should be more focused on officer gear with PC focusing on aurum and proto gear and pubs for standard loot. I also agree that FW should be for the "more than casual but less than hardcore" crowd. The biggest problem right now is the amount of battles generated and how long they are available.
I would like to see a mechanic that allowed us to pool ISK together to get pilots to plex. This would help draw pilots into FW and give the DUST mercs another way to change New Eden. It would work like a bounty on a plex, 100k buy in minimum and it would stick on the plex till it was completed. Whom ever took the LP would also get the ISK. |

What about a contract system that works both ways? Capsuleer corps which are involved in factional warfare can offer a payout to dustbunnies using a system similar to bounties, get X isk for every district you take or defend in FW. Of course allow the capsuleers to specify which system.
Dustbunnies could offer a similar payout to capsuleers for helping them capture a system or a simple way to ask for orbitals. Maybe in FW the orbitals can ONLY come from capsuleers but are done much more frequently? Or using a similar game type to the tournament they had, where the generation of orbitals is more dynamic than just WPs?
FW is a great opportunity for CCP to test some new ideas for interaction between the two games. Come on, guys! We need this mode to be something more than pub match with a longer queue! |

Faction contracts are a planned feature for FW along with 'loyalty points/rewards'. No ETA that I'm aware of as of yet but they're coming.

well no eta is not good enough, we need this stuff fairly soon or else the game is going to stagnate shrivel and die just like mag did, hell we barly have 4000k players on at any given time, the 80-100k people who stuck with this game are gitting bored with the lack of competition and half assed conent development, there are so many little things like this that could really freshen the game up its bull, i dont know what ccp thinks they are going to do with thenext build but if they dont do something we wont even have the 4000k players online by then |

Most of the time when I'm playing it there were always about 7000 players online. Getting 4000000 players online at the same time on the other hand is of course a challenge. Not even Eve has so many players.
I do agree though, that we need Faction Standings and Loyalty Points soon. |
