For those who don't fly I made a video to show you the BS that is RDVs killing dropships from nowhere.
With tanks, swarms, forge guns, AV grenades, Plasma Cannons and even flaylock pistols trying to knock us out of the air, what we donGÇÖt need is invisible RDVs destroying us with zero warning. Worse; the source of these monsters is usually the free LAV spammers on our own team; which means there is no rest bite, The RDVs keep coming for the whole match. They come in High, low and from any and all directions.

Now that is a good reason to remove the starter kit LAV. Thanks for proof. Maybe now CCP listens?

I have a small amount of footage from my couple weeks in Uprising with dropships....I'm sure I've got plenty of these treasures in those few clips >_< |

LOL this is so true wish i could show some of my drunk RDV encounters... i think they would top this.
ps i have always been too ticked to relize how much damage we got. ill have to look in to that more. |

I must fly differently than other pilots. In all the matches I've ever been in I've been rammed by an unavoidable RDV maybe twice. I mean, sure, that's two times too many, but I just don't find it to be nearly as much an issue as a lot of the other problems in the game. |

Very true. Before LAVs got buffed it was not as bad, but now people call them in all over the place.Even really stupid places the RDV can't land so it bumps around right in the dropships zone. |

Weve been asking ccp to remove borris the drunk Russian pilots vodka supply for some time . ( I think they acctually dope his mornig coffe sometimes .) You should see what he dose to my tank after a heavy night on the sauce. |

One of my most memorable moments was watching a RDV carry in a newborn dropship while ramming into an older dropship and killing it.
It was like the circle of life. |

Not even infantry are safe. I was running up one of the hills on the manus peak map. I was in the middle of the road with big burms on both sides. Somehow an rdv flew across the road at mach 3 and killed me instantly. Wtf. |

its funny everytime i see this video i think of that EVE tv show CCP was going to make.
Could you imagine the comical aspects of an RDV destroying the 1.5mil tank it was delivering
OR
a dropship trying to outrun swarms then randomly crashing into an decloaking RDV then the swarms tear apart the pilot that bearly survived
OR
two mercs crossing a street and then being ran over by a murder taxi
OR
the joy of a Forge gunner when he blows up your 2mil dropship
OR
the collective "**** you" when you and your team are caught under a Orbital after being proto stomped all match
OR
a lonesome red miltia assult class spawning in and pissing his pants before 2 HMG, a massdriver, 3 scrambler rifles, and a couple assult rifles take their satisfaction then randomly cuting to a blue logi saying they lost a clone.

They might be.
Not being airborn the RDV had to exact it's price from me as I dropped from the MCC. I'm just glad I wasn't in some overpriced fit at the time. |

Once (april 2013) I was creating a link on Ashlands north pipes (the straight pipes) and running along them, while suddenly everything turned red and my limp instagibbed body was slung against north-western mountains - hard.
Kill feed showed "KEROSIINI-TERO - Bolas".
Apparently I was killed by nerves-of-steel Bolas pilot wanting to squish a meat puppet by almost scraping ship's belly on the pipe railings.
Actually, I'm not complaining. That was pretty cool.
(I COULD complain about those times my tank alt lost tanks on delivery by those drunk Bolas pilots, especially on Ashlands map... But this thread is no about Bolas delivery AI but their instant materialization) |

Hmm, trying to make myself useful for a change, I can see the flight intelligence portion being hard to program into the pilot... since he's unmotivated being in a crap job.
Maybe just put up a moderate deflector screen around the RDV and "gently" push flying things away in an attempt to reduce collateral damage? it should be much easier to program and it fits in with our high tech environment. It would be nice if this also worked on deploying dropsuited mercs.
And, for crying out loud, make it moderate... it's okay if a high speed direct hit is not survivable!!!! |
