LSW (light support weapon) would be a nice addition to dust. same dps as an assault rifle but with larger ammo capacity and range with increased recoil and dispersal. would fit a nice suppressive fire role.
with the longer range it allows for the player to suppress enemies who are out of range of standard weapons. the downside is the recoil which would create a large spread at range but still hitting targets for reduced damage.
in order to maintain its suppressive role effectively it needs to be stationary and in crouch mode. if using from the hip or moving then the recoil increases making it less accurate and increasing spread therefore making it a less effective CQ weapon.
dust has alot of open ground where this type of weapon would become very effective not as dps but suppressing enemy movement. |

Same dps as an AR, clip extension is a skill, there's moderately high recoil on militia AR... Not sure what you are thinking about RoF, but with your edits it sounds like you're trying to describe the Rail Rifle, which sounds like it will be in between an AR and a Sniper Rifle; that may be the weapon you are looking for. |

the militia assault rifle or any assault rifle for that matter increases ammo/accuracy/damage through skills. that weapon is not a suppressive weapon. is a direct killing weapon with low/mid range
the LSW is longer range than any weapon except the sniper rifle to allow it to suppress players from advancing on areas.it maintains the same damage throughout all meta levels as dps is not its primary role. it has a huge ammo capacity with a better rof than the best assault weapon but this is at the expense of greater recall. to negate some of the recall the player has to be stationary in the crouch/steady position which snipers use. this is a master of suppression not dps.
skills will provide rof/range/ammo capacity bonuses and weapons will only receive recoil and accuracy changes through different versions of the weapon. |

Yeah, now it sounds like what the Rail Rifle might be. If that is what you are aiming at, I like the idea. |
