I want to like this game so much. I feel like I log in to try to make it enjoyable. I try to wear the rose-colored glasses while I play and tell myself "It'll get better soon, I bet", but I just don't feel it.
ISK, ISK, ISK
I understand its a part of EVE and New Eden, but... I feel that it is a huge part of the frustration felt within DUST514. Vehicles are hugely cost-prohibitive, and I understand why. If it wasn't so, then everyone would run super-powered equipment, but within that dynamic are many, many, many counters. f.e. a single swarm launcher, even at standard level, can send an armor tank running. Railguns and forge guns, even the standard, will push shield tanks away. Dropships, even the Assault Drop Ships are weaker in armor and shields than their Logistic LAV brethren and if you aren't dropping serious ISK to buff your vehicle up, there are so many things that can one shot you.
Planetary conquest is a joke. It feels like work and is basically a trumped up Skirmish. It needs to feel more compelling, but it isn't.
Dust/EVE connection? I just don't feel or see it within DUST itself. It feels like a string of individual matches, grinding ISK/SP 'until it gets better'. No Achievements, no little things to add to the value. Successful MMOs add the small things, like Vanity Pets, Items, etc. "Stuff, stuff stuff" as another post put it. Perhaps customizable Mercenary Quarters, aurum items to customize the appearance of our armor? Something MORE?
I keep hearing much about PvE from my fellow players, but little in the way of progress from CCP on it. This mode is NECESSARY to the longevity of this game. Ever wonder what makes EVE fun? If you want to PvP, you can do it in several ways. Don't want to PvP, you have a slew of ways to engage the environment, from scanning, to PI, to playing the markets, or playing the diplomat. That just isn't here in DUST, and I don't know when it will get there.
On a last note, I was simultaneously disheartened and excited when Planetside 2 was confirmed for the Playstation 4.... yet no confirmation for DUST514 for the PS4. If you have a solid confirmation for DUST514, let me know.

Whilst this isnt solid confirmation, they have stated that they wont let dust die with the ps3. I feel that an eventual port is ineveitable, perhaps after a year or so. In the meantime, there is an attempt to allow the playing of the game through the ps4's Gaikai streaming service, however, it wont be available at launch. |

Three generic responses, and I get it.
I have learned what I need to do to make my vehicle 'sturdy'
but there is just little enjoyment in the mechanics at the moment.
I doubt you'll find many pilots such as myself in the game.

I just feel embarrassed I told someone on here about 6 months ago to HTFU or go play COD. meanwhile, here I am a total ahole playing what amounts to a COD clone lol. The world works funny sometimes :)

At least in COD and BF3 our fits came with us and vehicles didn't cost your left testicle to roll out. |
