Depends, my good sir. For a newbie, I'd just go with militia fittings until you find out how the game works, what the weapons behave like, etc. |

Remember: In the Market there's a Militia Gear section. They have Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Forge Guns, and lots of other stuff for you there to try out. No skills needed. :) |

Yeah, Artificer is right. Stick to the free fits while you are still buying skill books and figuring out how things work.
Then, once you have purchased all the skill books you need, you can make copies of your favourite Starter fit, and add different types of Militia weapons (under Militia Gear > Weapons) to see what you like. They are cheap and don't require skills to use.
Edit: He beat me to it. Artificer you are on a roll today. |

Oh well, Gaden, you know. It's what I do. I'm actually thinking of becoming a BSoTT teacher. That's something I have to take up with Bojo and Free Healing, though.
What you could also do, Tokenpiff, is join either 'Bojos School of The Trades' (My Corp) or 'DUST University' (Gaden's Corp). Both training corps, and I know whenever I see a 'D-Uni' player, they're always a good opponent. So yea. Check us both out in the 'Corporation Recruitment' section to learn more info, and find out what you'd like more. :) |

Well honestly, It varies. It's all about specialty and playstyle here.
You said you wanted to be Assault, so I would run with the 'Assault - Frontline' suit. There's also 'Anti-Armor', 'Sniper', and 'Medic'. They're all pretty self explanitory. |

Ok, then you might also like the Shotgun. It has a lower RoF and a longer reload time, but you can shoot while reloading (Load a bullet it, shoot, rinse and repeat...) and if you can get close enough, you can even kill a proto-heavy. However, at range, you're pretty much dead. So it's good to carry a Militia Submachine Gun with it. |

Both u guys, solid advice. here's my money maker suit. Caldari primordial bpo suit. Toxin assault rifle,"comes with merc pack". toxin smg,"same" All modules bpo except one basic armor plate. Good cheap fit and when you get your core skills up it is a solid foundation that I do very well with. My other is minmitar adv assault "down the road" with toxin ar. Can't tell you the secret about the toxin ar but when used properly it's deadlier than a duvolle, happy hunting bro.. |
