If you run a Dropship like a Logistics Dropship you don't get much WP unless you have gunners getting kills but those gunners can have crap dropsuits but get more WP then the pilot who can be potentially using a very expensive ship. The Logistics don't even get points for mobile spawning. Dropships are good, but don,t give the pilot the ISK they deserve for transporting infantry to Tatical positions. Also the assault may give the dropship users a decent amount of kills and is not so bad but it costs more then a Tank and a Railgun or a Forge gun Critically impacts dropships that they will bump into a building or some other object. I can say that I have lost Dropships when I was moving slow and scraped a building which does not make an sense. Dropships lose the HP to fast when landing even when landing slow I mean the ship has legs that come out when near the ground are they in use at all? So Dropships should be given a chance for more WP because if they dont fly out and have two railguns or forge gunners and they shoot they will go down. So I say either return dropships as a salvage queen or give them more ways to raise WP like I use to heal tanks from the sky's but no WP=ISK means it is only good for PC battles. |

Dropships Should Get a WP bonus For Spawning. Give 'em the Drop Uplink Bonus, 25 WP per Spawn.
And Make Dropships Slightly More tanky. Not Tank Level Tanky, Just like 2 Base LAVs Put Together For Base DS HP |

I agree dropships should get more war point's and maybe a 50% health buff. Dropships should also get more resistance to tank railguns and adv/proto forge guns. |

Agree. Now about the comment someone made about not tank levels of tank. See this is a tricky one. A tank is harder to hit than a dropship. On some maps like say Manus Peak there is almost not a single spot for a dropship to hide. Forge gunners and swarmers can see and hit us from almost the whole map. It is near impossible to do anything in those conditions.
I think drop ships need very high innate resistance to Forge and rail, I'd go as far as 70%. Seems high, yes but remember that to even get close we can take 3 hits before we are in range of the forger/swarmer. To preform the role of dropping troops we need to survive at least 4 hits from a forge and 6 from a swarm.
Would this make us too strong? No. We can be rendered ineffective by a non killing blow. ADS can't shoot back due to knockback from forge,rail and swarms. We cant land to pick up if getting hit hard nor can we hover to drop troops it they can be killed by the forge/rail/swarms while in the ship.
We need to be strong because we can't hide. Tanks can.

Dropships need more options to get WPs. DS pilots need a way to get WP because WP = SP.
another way to fix dropships?
give us the ability to transfer items/corp hangar and a corp tax.
If I can finacne my pilots they it takes some pressue off them to get to the top of the leader boards just to buy the ships. |

Dropships have been non profitable since forever but ccp was discussing at one point to add rewards for the pilots if the passengers hopped out and within a certain timeperiod grab an objective for instance. Looks like these plans got canned though, so for now pilots are **** out of luck unfortunately. |

Much agreed,
Incubus + 3 XT Accelerated Missile Launchers (These are amazing, took out CA Installation in 5 hits) = over 1,000,000 ISK
That's a rip off when you consider that the Dropship doesn't give many kills, and that a Militia Forge Gun costs 3,000 ISK.

See we should atleast get 4 hits to be tooken down when we have a large amount of SP into it also I mean on board spawning we need those WP I mean we could have such a bigger role if we got more WP we should get a piloting bonus when a gunner gets a kill I say a bit more WP then the actual kill they got because Dropships are very hard to get kills when they are flying super high or moving fast. We get dropped by Rails and Forges quickly I mean swarms we can escape decently or atleast we used to since speed of them were highly increased I mean a dropship that gets 1 shotted by an ADV Railgun that has most likely way better modules shouldn't get dropped so quickly I mean good amount of shots before we die you can atleast keep us at bay if were being shot at When I get shot once I make a run for cover because one more and I am dead. LAV's can take more why can't dropships we need a good amount of hits we can tank I mean sure an overdrive or speed boosters can help us escape but a couple of shots by a railgun (1-2) or a Forge (2-3) and a planned co-attack and we drop like fly's I mean nothing helps us get ISK for the RISK or the right amount of SP. I mean assaults are okay but think are we going to be flying low all the time when we can get shot easily and most of the PG and CPU is going to be used on the turrets I mean we need someway of balancing. I mean we could be the game changer where we get blues flanking enemies from the back. |
