Pros and Cons:
SMGs (Mini Assault Rifle)
+ High DPS + Medium Range + Large clip + Easy to use - Loose aiming
I personaly don't care for this gun, but it has gotten me out of a few 1 on 1s. I have also been on the recieving end of it and it's no joke.
Scarmbler Pistols
+ 450% headshot dmg inscrease + High std dmg per shot - Small clip size - Hard to use against upgraded armor & shield users, increasing the need for headshots to compensate for small clip size
I used this as my primary weapon back in Chromo and I destroyed people with it because I was good at getting head shots, but not so much without the head shots.
Nova Knives
+ Extremely high dmg output potential (will shred even the largest heavies when fully upgraded and modded) + No ammo required - Practically useless when using std and adv without dmg upgrades/mods - Requires upclose and personal (about 3 feet) CQC for use
When I got my last respec I thought using the Knies would be super awesome to use. They actually aren't as awesome as I thought as it requires A LOT of speedy tactics just to get close to anyone to use them. But when I do finally get in on a target, it is VERY rewarding to get just one kill.
Flaylock Pistol (Mini Mass Driver)
+ Very high contact dmg + Very high splash dmg (although slightly less than contact) - Very small clip size - Slow travel time - Headshots required to perform 100% contact damage - Requires aiming low for optimal hit rate chance (otherwise std aim if the target isn't moving)
This is currently my favorite weapon to use. I average around 8 kills most ambush battles and average around 12 or more kills in good matches and am usually in the top 5 (on the team) and sometimes 1st or 2nd (out of all players with less than 4 deaths) when I'm dealt a good hand. Some may say those are not impressive stats, but doubters are not considering the fact that this is with a CORE Flaylock with Lv3 pro and two Lv5 DMG mods (just got them today). Not to mention that this is being used with a Adv. Minmatar Light Suit with no shield or amor upgrades. How is it that one could put out such stats, when using this set-up? Skill, tactics, and technics... It takes all of those all the time and I gotta do it all fast or I get torn apart, like toilet paper.
I know it seems like I may be tooting my own horn, but I haven't seen anyone else perform like this, and have seen VERY FEW others using this weapon, let alone dominating with it. Heck today I recieved an angry message from someone calling me a p***y and f****t and threatened to shove his gun up my a*s, just because I got luck in one match and had a 13 kill streak ALMOST BY MYSELF vs a persistant pack of wolves trying to spawn kill my Drop Uplink, with only 1 death at the start of the match. Either they sucked at shooting me, I out performed them, or both. It was a rare occasion.
I just wanted to get this off my chest, since it seems to be misunderstood by some.
((((((((TL;DR Version:
SideArms perform as intended to be used as back up weapons, when in a jam. SideArms are deadly when in skilled hands, due to their emergency critical damage output. SideArms suck to use when compared to Light Weapons. If you think any of these are OP, please consider the player using them. Try them yourself and compare them to Light weapons, if you need proof.))))))))
