IGÇÖd like to take a little time to go over what I feel is an important part of Dust514; vehicles. No this isnGÇÖt a GÇ£nerf this, buff thatGÇ¥ thread or a GÇ£OMG MTACsGÇ¥ rant, I want to talk a bit about vehicle variants that IGÇÖd like to see in the game, what their bonuses/roles should be, as well as touching on fixing up some bonuses that current variants have.
Absolute values have been left out of this thread on purpose because I know if I put them in everyone would argue about the difference of 2% versus 3%, where really the concept behind the roles/bonuses is the focus here. IGÇÖll try to keep things concise as well as maintain continuity in theme here for all races and vehicle types.
Racial Themes: Caldari GÇô High Shield HP, Long Range Combat, Many High Slots, Low Speed Gallente GÇô High Armor HP, Short Range Combat, Many Low Slots, Moderate-High Speed Minmatar GÇô High Shield Recharge, Short-Mid Range Combat, Equal High and Low Slots, High Speed Minmatar GÇô High Armor Repair Rate, Mid-Long Range Combat, Equal High and Low slots (but less than Minmatar), High Base HP values, Moderate-Low Speed

Light Attack Vehicles (LAVs) Theme: Light troop transport (up to 3), high speed with some Anti-Personnel capabilities
Scout LAVs Scout LAVs are largely unused right now because the Logistics counterpart is far more survivable and the Scout LAV bonuses are underwhelming. The Scout LAV should provide a quick hit and run weapons platform capable of getting in quick, doing damage, and getting out.
Caldari Scout LAV +% Top Speed/Lvl Scout LAV +% Small Missile Turret Damage/Lvl Caldari Scout LAV
Gallente Scout LAV +% Top Speed/Lvl Scout LAV +% Small Blaster Turret Damage/Lvl Gallente Scout LAV
Minmatar Scout LAV +% Top Speed/Lvl Scout LAV +% Small Projectile Turret Damage/Lvl Minmatar Scout LAV
Amarr Scout LAV +% Top Speed/Lvl Scout LAV +% Small Laser Turret Damage/Lvl Amarr Scout LAV
Logistics LAVs Logi LAVs are largely used for running people over simply because their intended purpose is nearly impossible to fulfill with current module mechanics. Logi LAVs should have high survivability, limited offensive capabilities, and be able to quickly repair/support multiple infantry units at the same time. In order to fulfill this goal, the built in repair tool needs to behave like a repair nanohive, offering a bubble of healing to all ally units in the area of effect. The current locking mechanic takes too long and is not feasible for supporting infantry.
Special: Built in Infantry Repair Tool
Caldari Logistics LAV +% Repair Bubble Radius/Lvl Logistics LAV +% Cycle Duration of Infantry Shield Transportation Module/Lvl Caldari Logistics LAV
Gallente Logistics LAV +% Repair Bubble Radius/Lvl Logistics LAV +% Cycle Duration of Infantry Remote Armor Repair Module/Lvl Gallente Logistics LAV
Minmatar Logistics LAV +% Repair Bubble Radius/Lvl Logistics LAV +% Transfer Amount of Infantry Shield Transportation Module/Lvl Minmatar Logistics LAV
Amarr Logistics LAV +% Repair Bubble Radius/Lvl Logistics LAV +% Repair Amount of Infantry Remote Armor Repair Module/Lvl Amarr Logistics LAV

Dropships Theme: High troop transport (up to 7 including pilot) providing aerial transport as well as intelligence with some Anti-Personnel (and Anti Vehicle in some cases) capabilities.
Logistics Dropships Logi Dropships need to be highly survivable vehicles with limited offensive capabilities that are built to transport and insert troops into hotzones. They use their mobile CRU to spawn troops in on the fly making for the ultimate transportation vehicle.
Special: Built in Mobile CRU
Caldari Logistics Dropship -% Spawn Time/Lvl Logistics Dropship +% Shield Extender Efficacy/Lvl Caldari Logistics Dropship
Gallente Logistics Dropship -% Spawn Time/Lvl Logistics Dropship +% Armor Plate Efficacy/Lvl Gallente Logistics Dropship
Minmatar Logistics Dropship -% Spawn Time/Lvl Logistics Dropship +% Shield Booster Efficacy/Lvl Minmatar Logistics Dropship
Amarr Logistics Dropship -% Spawn Time/Lvl Logistics Dropship +% Armor Repairer Efficacy/Lvl Amarr Logistics Dropship

Heavy Attack Vehicles (HAVs) Theme: Heavily armored vehicles that excel in Anti-Vehicle and Anti-Personnel combat. Able to soak up massive amounts of damage and lay down both lethal and suppressive fire, the HAV plays a heavy support role in supporting friendly infantry and other vehicles.
Marauder HAV Marauder HAVs should be designed around the idea of up close and personal combat for short periods of time via the use of a Siege Module which boosts offensive and defensive capabilities at the cost of all mobility. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Siege_Module_I
Special: Built in Siege Module
Caldari Marauder HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Siege Module/Lvl Marauder HAVs +% Blast Radius of Large Missile Turrets/Lvl Caldari Marauder HAVs
Gallente Marauder HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Siege Module/Lvl Marauder HAVs +% Fire Rate of Large Blaster Turrets/Lvl Gallente Marauder HAVs
Minmatar Marauder HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Siege Module/Lvl Marauder HAVs +% Blast Radius of Large Artillery Turrets/Lvl Minmatar Marauder HAVs
Amarr Marauder HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Siege Module/Lvl Marauder HAVs -% Heat Buildup of Large Laser Turrets/Lvl Amarr Marauder HAVs
Logistics HAV Logistics HAVs should be designed around the principle of repairing other vehicles via the use of Triage Module which boosts Logistics and Defensive capabilities at the cost of all movement. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Triage_Module_I
Special: Built in Triage Module
Caldari Logistics HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Triage Module/Lvl Logistics HAVs +% Efficacy of Shield Extenders/Lvl Caldari Logistics HAVs
Gallente Logistics HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Triage Module/Lvl Logistics HAVs +% Efficacy of Armor Plates/Lvl Gallente Logistics HAVs
Minmatar Logistics HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Triage Module/Lvl Logistics HAVs +% Efficacy of Shield Boosters/Lvl Minmatar Logistics HAVs
Amarr Logistics HAV +% Cooldown Rate for Triage Module/Lvl Logistics HAVs +% Efficacy of Armor Repairers/Lvl Amarr Logistics HAVs

should the LLAV have a turret? It's not like anyone uses it :P. The spot can be used as a Remote Armor Repairer or a Shield Transporter where you have a "gunner" manually aim at which vehicle they want repaired/recharged, this solves the problem of the current mechanics of it.
EDIT: and give them Triage WP! |

If you look at the actual vehicle model, the LAVs have 2 additional seats in the back of the vehicle. I'd like to see the removal of the turret and allow 4 people to fit in the LLAV instead of the usual 3. |
