I mean really now, why the hell are the Dusties held back. Why doesn't CCP worry about the newbies playing EVE for the first time instead of the newbies playing DUST? |

Its 100% passive.
There is only so much SP you can get in a certain amount of time.
So in a way, there is an SP cap. |

One argument to ballance DUST like EVE would be for an entirely passive SP growth in Dust, and then you just fight for ISK, and loot. ... might not make people happy though. |

I would much rather opt for this. A while back people voted on the SP system. Why not have a revote seeing as how people are obviously not too thrilled with how this ended up. |

EVE is an MMO so their 100% passive SP works, since there are TONS of things to do.
DUST is an FPSRPG with extremely little to do. SP is currently the hook being used to push sales and to keep the servers poppin. |

I still believe a system where we had only passive SP and then 1 SP/WP in battle with no cap would go a long way into making this game feel much more fun battle to battle. It wouldn't be a chore playing until cap and would reward performance.
As it stands, once you hit cap and you feel that drop off in SP.. it sucks a lot. Its a little frustrating too, most people dont even want to play for the rest of the week when that happens.
I wonder what the player numbers look like on monday/tuesday vs wednesday. I'll bet its a pretty big jump. |

If DUST implemented the same SP system in EVE, I'd bet they would get the ball rolling on DUST because people will stop playing, making it apparent we only log on for the SP. They need to make a decent game. The SP system as it is, hides the real numbers of who is really playing this game. |
