For the longest time I thought this was just an audio file that was missing as any time a headshot would be landed the sound would dampen. A few friends confirmed this as well.
Come to find out, after inceeasing the music volume that theres actually a nifty little sound that plays that youonly hear when themusic volume is up.
Honestly, I think that the game would do betterif we didnt temporarily go deaf when music volume is off and we land a headshot =] |

I kind of like the current head shot...notification I guess you can call it. It's subtle, but kind of zooms you in on the moment. Kind of gives you that f**k yeah! feeling when you get one. |

Yeah I was talking more so of how the game slows down and the sounds dampen for a moment. I've never heard music either. |

One time I was intoxicated on a plant and decided to turn the music off, voice off and sound effects 100! Boy, was it intense to play 
I didn't know there was a cue with the music being on, the sound drops off since the music is off.
I've gotten headshot kills with my Novas  |

I tis indeed a "bug" that these nice and useful sounds are tied to the music volume instead of the sounds effect of some other volume slider. |

I have a feeling the muffled effect of shooting a headshot hit is a bug.
I think the muffle effect is supposed to be for the victim of a headshot - not the shooter pulling the trigger like he always does some 50m away.
That would also give some clue to the victim why he died so fast. |

I don't think it's a bug. It seems intentional. There are a few games that do a similar effect when you get head shots, or stealth kills, or some sort of special action. It seems to briefly take your attention away from everything else to see the result of your shot. |
