I think CCP should really start the economy in some way.
I doesn't have be grand, just something simple.
Like being able to sell militia, standard, advanced and protoype items back to the NPCs at 75% of what thier market value is.
This way people can make some money back from salvage and by selling items they don't use.
Alternatives and additions could be the ability to sell officer items. Im against selling aur items to the NPCs.
Then later we can have in player trading. Im no programmer but Im sure selling items back would be a developmentally cheap feature.

All weapons and items are hardcoded to you via DNA, they cannot be sold or transfered..
Sadly all our gear was made by Microsoft... |

Is that why it fails 25% of the time?
Seriously though. Economy is being held back perhaps in favour of a seemingly big release. Im in favor of baby steps. I have a crap tonne of stuff I don't use. Is it too much to ask to be able to sell this stuff.
The ability to seel can later be integrated with an open market.
I have no idea why player trading is first on the list as its seems significantly more complex to impliment. That and its ripe for exploitation and scams. And I think the forums are negative enough at the moment. |

Assuming there is around 5 quadrillion isk in eve and about 5 billion isk in dust then the current exchange rate would be about 1 dust isk to every 1,000,000 eve isk's (or is the other way around?)
so maybe they will wait until the gap between the two is smaller and then open the flood gates of isk from eve and pray the two economy's find a equilibrium and fast :) |

Thats not what this threads about.
Although thank you for posting All input and opinions are good.
Im not talking about eve all Im asking is the ability to sell stuff, in dust, already bought in the market, in dust.
That is all.
Infact the ability to sell items back to the NPCs would close the gap somewhat. |

Open up Player-to-Player trade and allow us to buy/sell Aurum for ISK like EVE players can with PLEX. CCP still gets their money because someone has to buy the Aurum for it to go on the market. |

Yeah I agree.
But player trading will take ages.
Open up selling back to the NPCs first.
Whewn I said I am against AUR item selling, I meant to NPCs, not to players. |

Personally, I don't think that player to player trading should take ages. I agree that the most basic steps toward a functioning economy, like Eve, need to be taken as soon as possible. The economy is one of the ways that Dust will differentiate itself from other shooters. |

Sadly all our gear was made by Microsoft... So in order to trade gear we'll need someone to friends on PSN for more than 30 days, they have to pay retail for the equipment again and the equipment won't be active if you're disconnected from tacnet for more than an hour? |

selling back to NPC's would be fairly easy to implement. but they will wait until they have a good reason to fire it up, as this will cause yet another wave of super rich players. (btw where is my respect? I want mi isk back on these dropship skills!) |
