There should be no artificial red zone or timers to restrict us, let us take as long as we want with whatever route it takes, and let only the tactically valuable locations like the objectives determine the gameplay locations. This open freedom to the districts would give vehicles more importance. Ground spawn bases can be protected by installations generating a shield instead that none can shoot in or out of.
Once a battle is over I don't want to be forced out to watch an MCC explode then stare at stats, I want to be able to stay and to watch the MCC explode in first person, then I want explore. I want to be able to roam around looting dropped items from the battle, or even find rogue drones hives to take down. When I'm ready to leave, I will deposit my looted goods to a locations from which they will "mail" it to me after I commit suicide and ditch my current clone. Teams should be dissolved at the end (but not squads), so it becomes every merc for themselves unless they willingly choose to work together to find loot. CRUs would go offline, so if you die after the battle is over, you're forced to leave the district.

Why? Verisimilitude. Removing red zone will fix redline sniping, and redline railgun tanks. I'm not sure that'd be really feasible for matchmade battles, given people play those so they can get in and out quickly and not have to worry about any details.
As far as player-owned Districts, I would say that'd be a major step on the road to making this game feel more immersive. |

Great idea. I'm sure many people had this is mind back in the closed beta. It's all in vain though if we don't get things like aiming and weapon balance fully polished. Will this happen on the ps3? Due to hardware limitations I doubt it. One day? I guess that's why were all still here.
FTR I'd love to free roam these gigantic maps post battle. Many great ideas have been put forth in regards to persistent open battle areas. Maybe we will see timers removed in null sec. |
