Starting either tomorrow or Wednesday, I will only exclusively use the Laser Rifle - yes, the laser rifle.
I will stack on Complex Damage mods to my Amarr A-1 Assault suit so I can be somewhat of a competitor, but every kill I get I will relish the moment because I know on the other end of the game there is a player reacting like this - http://download.ultradownloads.com.br/wallpaper/276253_Papel-de-Parede-Meme-Jackie-Chan_1600x900.jpg
I challenge others to take this "Laser Rifle Challenge," it will either bring some sort of just kitten around fun factor to the game, or enrage you as you die again and again and again and again and again ad infinitum. |

Laser rifle doesn't suck, it's the lens flare and iron sight ruining it. Probably could use a range buff though. |

You're right, it isn't godawful like everyone says. I used it back right around the official release and did pretty well with it, but the iron sight and lens flare make it quite difficult to use. The LR did get a bit of a damage nerf as well, so unless someone stands still out in the desert plains of DUST, it's pretty hard to actually kill someone with the LR. |

sounds Great! just remember that Laser Rifle's only rock at close quarters, and that they are best used against armor, so when next you see a Heavy, run straight up to him and have a good go! lol.
but seriously, i feel strongly that most of the weapons are deadly when spec'ed into correctly (with the right dropsuit, of course), so all power to you if you are gonna go all in with the LR. |

IMO, it just sucks to have an awesome pulse laser weapon (Scrambler Rifles), but have a horrid beam laser weapon (Laser Rifles).
I really loved the laser rifles due to their intimidation factor - I mean just seeing a laser beam sweep across the battlefield is a pretty "OH S***!" moment for a lot of players. Now with the LR's reduced damage output, iron sights, lens flare, and crazy feedback damage, if someone sees a beam lancing across the battlefield, their first thought is probably "man that guy must be new to DUST." |

The awesome thing about the Amarr Assault is that it can turn a standard laser rifle into something better than its prototype counterpart. The standard LR on its own is unwieldy and rarely useful, but if you fully specialise in it, it can be improved more than any other weapon in the game. |

Care to elaborate?
The only way I can see making the standard LR viable is to dump complex damage mods unto your suit - Amarr Assault suit that is so you can get the overheat reduction bonus. |
