Anyone else annoyed that tanks are worth their weight in gold? i mean seriously i used to tank and i was pretty decent at it but once you pull it out and start doing good everyone decides you're priority number 1, Im not asking for a nerf or buff or anything at all from the mods i just wanted to tell CCP that i feel its unfair to tankers that the odds are so stacked. Problem is maps are way to small to support tank gameplay, people hate tanks because in the right hands in can destroy the battlefield vs infantry, but if maps were bigger with objectives spread out 1 KM+ then the role of the tank would be anti LAV and Dropship to avoid infantry getting into your territory. |

Why would anyone let a huge threat roam free to do as it pleases? If I see a tank, I take my Forge Gun and I shoot at it. |

So you want to never be shot at and go 50:0? I'm a tanker and a good one at that; a match without other tanks or AV is boring BC o don't have to think. Maybe learn to drive better. Hell, I'll teach u everything I know, if you want, but you're making us look like crybabies. |

There is one valid point in the OP and basically summarized by this statement. The fact is that there is a greater reward for destruction of all things that generate War points or have a high ISK cost then actually winning the match itself. Beyond the obvious reasons mentioned such as a HAV being a huge potential threat this is why you are targeted to a higher degree.

i got an idea, how about you dont assume things instantly, im saying i think that tanks are too expensive to be able to learn anything for new players, there is no point in having a tank class if a new player cant learn without having to play 3 games as infantry just to lose the tank the moment they pull it out, im a noob with them and i its really frustrating trying to learn when everyone can just pull out proto av **** and end my training session
this goes to all the spammers on the thread tell me to htfu, im not asking for buffs or nerfs, i just want a way to train without losing an hours worth of gameplay in one round |

Shotgun, I certainly understand your frustrations as a new tanker. The fact is that the road to getting your expertise up to a point were you can survive and profit can be long and sadly very expensive. But at the end of the road there is a certain pride in knowing that you can, when you play well, have a very real effect on the battlefield.
I would suggest trying to group up with some other veteran tankers to get some tips in regards to play style and fitting. While I don't know the channel off hand I believe there is a channel in-game dedicated to tanking. In addition I have seen some players like Charlotte generously offer to provide mentoring to new Tankers. Perhaps run as a gunner with a few of them for a while and get a feel for how they succeed. |

The dumbass blueberries who won't shoot at the source of the obvious missiles, and my 2 gunners who shot every inanimate object on the map, but can't even hit a red. |
