Why does this game says it's an MMO when I can't see a massive, persistent battle a least? PC is the only way to feel the MMO but I can't play that because I don't even have a corp. All the time I've been playing public matches that have no meaning, no change in the world. I heard there was a game where there was no matchmaking you enter the battlezone and the battle never ends it's persistent. I can't remember which game it was but that's pretty awesome. I know they say it's an MMO. |

Persistant battle is over-rated. I played WWIIONLINE back in the day and PS1 and PS2. Trust me, it gets old fighting a nonstop battle with no wins or losses tracked or to give an actual feeling of victory or defeat. Lack of any balance gets old too. It doesnt feel like you did much to win or lose, it feels like either you had a bigger zerg or they did. |

So three letters in the description bothers you that much? You seem full of hate, and that must be fun. |

You forget about the meta game aspect. It is the alliances and corporations that add the MMO part. This is also how Dust current connects to Eve, which is a true mmo in your mind. These alliances and corporations matter and they shape the future of the New Eden universe. Whether or not you like it, the PC battles will shape how people interact in the future. Play more, get more involved, pick a corp that does something.
Faction Warfare also directly affects Eve. So those battles matter as well and further quantify the MMO part of Dust. You are affecting others and a persistent game world. |

Faction warfare really? Why don't they do events so actual noobs like me feel they're actually taking part in changing the world? Is it really connected to EvE atm? |

Remember, when selecting a corp, check the box that says "doing something", and it will only list thing doers. |

To be honest, the only thing MMO about Dust is the chat, agree or disagree but it somewhat right. Everything else seems like a FPS with skill points used for locking weapons and equipments. Edit: Unlocking |

Yes.
Faction Warfare on the Eve Online side of the server allows Capsuleers to take control of low-sec systems within opposing empires and use those captured systems to upgrade them to their advantage. Systems with strategic importance become breeding grounds for conflict. But to capture a system you need to earn a certain amount of points over time. The points needed to capture those systems can be affected by the outcome of the battles in Dust 514's Mercenary tab. The more districts you win these battles for the faction you choose to fight for, the less points are needed to capture the system. The more districts you lose, the more points are needed Eve side.
Planetary Conquest has a slightly different effect. Owners of districts can get bonuses in Eve Online for their POS towers orbiting nearby.
In both types of battles, you are allowed to call in an Eve Online player for support assuming you have an Eve players who can safely make it to the planet. They will appear to you as blue or red brackets in the sky. |

My thoughts exactly, especially when the players themselves would much rather go cap empty bases on an empty continent for free XP than fight. |
