If I were CCP, right now I would withdraw the release statement and plan a full release early 2014, due after PS4 release. This way CCP can fix their act up and benefit from the ideal statement of having it launched on the PS4, with better engine and everything... |

Or.. CCP could just add more game modes and add more newbie-friendly tutorials to the game. |

Half, if not more of the game is still missing/soon still. I was hoping to be a skilled Dropship pilot, but that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon. I have read the eu/playstation/forum/Dust 514 thread and a lot of people are questioning Sony's judgement on this issue now. If the game is incomplete, how can they justify taking people's money is the main topic of the thread They have a point, and you never know, if Sony get to much flack, their partnership with CCP might be brought to their attention They don't mince their words, especially with a new platform coming, they don't need people/competition drawing attention to oblivious flaws in it before its out.

Well to your money point the simple answer is not to give them any money as Dust is worth neither the time or money.
If you gave them money during the beta then you are a lazy developer's dream as you reinforce that's its fine to ask people to pay for sub-par.
If you gave them money after release and regret it then you should learn to read a wide range of reviews or try a bit before you invest.
If you gave them money after release and have no regrets well I guess everyone's standards are different. Some very low, some high. |

I agree with op, the release was rushed for pc and mmofps marketing strategies. Remove full release and call it beta again. |

I agree with OP. The biggest mistake was calling this beta build the release. Hence all the bad reviews and general flak they have gotten over it.
Though, much of the damage has already been done. So going back to beta status probably won't make much difference now. |

No respecs if they do have respecs then they need to be hard to get or impact negatively on the character to respecing is discouraged.
CCP wants us to specialise that's the point, not go willy nilly all over the place. |

Problems with the idea of yours:
1. Imagine the negative PR in which CCP has to suffer after posting a statement retracting the release. Not to mention the forum whining we'll see from the internet lawyers wanting one more free reset because the merc packs sold at Gamestop say that your merc pack contents will be refunded upon commercial release (again).
2. The PS4 will not be able to quickly overcome the PS3 until at least 2015-16 because current PS3 owners are likely to hold onto their current system until it dies and then have to replace them.
3. CCP will then have to waste more years trying to rebuild Dust for the PS4 and then all of this testing we did during the past 12 months alone will have been for nothing. On top of that, Dust took 4 years to develop since 2009.
4. A lot of us who are established veterans, me included, will more than likely abandon Dust if they were to retract their commercial release statement as that is a definite sign that Dust has failed. At that point, I will just go back to playing Eve Online playing with the market.
5. It has been decreed years ago that anyone buying a brand new console off the shelves on release day are technically considered to be Beta Testers because of all the system glitches they will experience. Remember the defective power cords and other fun hardware defects? |

I want to make a note for everyone that the reason why Dust took 4 years to develop was because of us Eve players rioting during the 2011 Jita Riots. This forced Dust to end up in the back burner of development cycles and thus explains why it took so long. |

So the jita riots are connected with the ddos attacks and the Planetside 2 bomber? I dont think so. CCP taught us to be backstabbing gankers, they get ganked and the game suffers. Hail to the debacle514 |

I actually like this game, but then I'm an ex eve player so I'm used to it / my standards are quite low :P I even purchased a merc pack the other day because I would like to help support this game.
Having said that I still see this as a beta product. Both in terms of bugs/glitches/memory leaks still needing work, as well as not at least having fleshed out vehicles for all races, finally a heavy and scout for each race.
At this point I feel the game would be pretty solid, anything after that I would see as 'expansion content' -for lack of a better term. |

What? Are you high? The riots were no where near related to the recent DDoS attacks. You must be trolling. |

Anyways yes this should be in beta stage still. Full release is for marketing legal reasons, similar to the mmofps tag. |

Yeah this game feels alot more like alpha than beta actually. Really clunky and non responsive.
Release means nothing realky besides the ability to charge without reset. |
