Anyone here play Brink? The first black ops did this as well... they have a role concept that I think CCP can use to add another dynamic.
When Faction War is in full swing and we can gain loyalty points for matches..
Add sub contracts for Merc's to invest in. Loyalty points/ISK as rewards with different tasks that need to be completed.
Revive X number of players in a match Kill X number of players Capture X number of objectives
For me this added another perspective to normal matches that forced me to try different fittings and roles.
What do you guys think?!

Hate to burst your bubble (because this is somewhat a good idea) but loyalty points have been denounced by devs and probably won't be happening even though everyone else seems to think they're really pretty important. |

What about adding PvE first then add gibberish. |

It's because of the "merc" thing, I think. Mercenaries aren't loyal to any particular faction, and therefore shouldn't be awarded loyalty points. It's one of the things I really dislike about how hard they're shoe-horning in the whole "mercenary" angle. Maybe I don't want to be a mercenary. Maybe I want to fight for the Minmatar militia like my EVE counterpart does. |

If this is true... Funnelling is the absolute opposite to everything I thought CCP was about. |

I disagree with this just because Im a merc doesn't mean I cant set up preferential contract agreements with factions and groups, especially if they are willing to support the merc corp through LP, which now that im playing EVE.....is much better than ISK right now.
Since most players don't RP being mercs anyway and just fight for themselves rather than people who pay them it shouldn't matter that I want the 24th Crusade to pay me. |

Agreed.
I find it ironic that during EVERY pre-game lobby, we get to hear "sign up for a faction contract today, loyalty will be rewarded..." and yet they actively oppose rewarding loyalty. |
