First off, let me start by saying that I truly enjoy the game. It is challenging and fun. However, I'm not to happy with the way things are looking.
The Number 1 reason: What is up with the different battle lobby after like one day of play... instead of just plain old skirmish, you get the choice to pick between ambush, skirmish, domination, and ambush (omc?)
Number 2... Why not let the player decide when they feel they are ready to progress to the next level, almost like a "Call of Duty" prestige system. Or set a maximum days allotted to the "beginning" lobby.
Knowing that myself is not the only player that does not like this charade, I also feel like it is pushing me away from the game.
I like to know that it is challenging myself, but, Im just not ready to play in the "NEW LOBBY" with all of the seasoned players out there... Ive only been playing for approx. 2 days.
If you guys could give me some insight as to why the devs decided to produce the game in this manner please let me know. Im getting tired of creating new characters just to know that I will not be ready again in a couple of hours for what is coming. |

At least you could start from battle academy, and get some touch for the game. I started playing this game when it entered to open beta, and it was quite hard to blend in.
And I agree, proper matchmaking would do miracles for the game. |

The 1.2 patch is meant to have some form of "gear" match making system contained within it. Hopefully this will eliminate the chances of new players facing vets in ADV or Protosuits.
The patch is being introduced in the first half of July.
Ironically a lot of vets argued that new players should have more time in the Academy before entering the open environment. |

in order to graduate from the academy you have to gain 10k WP or 100K SP. once you pass one of those then you get to Graduate!! YAY! now you get to run with the big bo'is who are in squads and you probably are not. I made a new account just to check out the academy and found even though I hadn't spent any skill points I was still getting maybe 40 kills 0 or 1 deaths a match. I was running the gallente frontline suit... maybe a little OP I may say when fighting in the academy battles. high armor and a 6hp/s repair rate. unless you suck at getting WP or only get kill assists I think you will reach the WP cap way before the 100k SP cap. at least I did. I think I played maybe 6 rounds only making about 45k sp before I graduated. you should post in the feedback/request forum asking for a bump in requirements in order to graduate from the academy, or look for one that has already been posted because I know I have posted on one almost this same story. and you can +1 it. |

There is no SP limit on the academy. It is 10000 WP only. Besides that, new players start with 500k SP, so obviously 100k as a limit would be pretty daft.
Now, there should be an SP limit on the academy, and people should either be in it a little longer, or there should be a second tier of academy. On the other hand, better matchmaking is coming so this might make all the difference.

the 100k sp does not include the initial 500k or any passive. it is only from actual battles played. but most likely you will hit the 10k wp limit first, long before you have made 100k sp from games |

I have academy players with more than 600k SP. There is no SP limit to my knowledge. There should be, but there isn't.
I just verified with one of my Alts. That character has 1.13M SP, and of that, 993K allocated, and that character still drops in the academy. 6850 WP. |

The Battle Academy is needed to ease new players into Dust. I'm sure it will help player retention.
CCP was pretty good about getting it in when we asked, but they botched the requirements for graduation from it. IMO it should be *much* longer. I would raise graduation to 4mil SP. Who cares if new players don't play with vets for a month, even 2 months? Seriously this is less of a problem than losing players from being thrown to the wolves too soon before they get hooked by the game. |
