It's pretty much live stream gaming. For example youtube live streams videos while gaikal live streams game (Youtube for games pretty much except not everyone can upload games on there) |

I haven't really looked it up, but I think its like streaming the game on the ps4. I don't know if it is like playing a MMO, like WoW or GW, where it streams like 128-256k per seconds. Like what i said, I haven't done any research on it, but that is what I think it might be. |

They aren't accepting new logins, they won't even let me sign in anymore, and I have an account with them.
It's like OnLive, but for Sony platforms, such as the PS4 and the new line of Bravia TV's.
Is it worth it  Probably not, it just another subscription to milk their customers. If they have just developed the PS3 SDK, and it tool chain, so it was compatible with x86, then Ghakia wouldn't even been needed.
Some on the hacking forums even think they didn't do this intentionally, too, like I said get another subscription out of us.
A big corporation like Sony creating another revenue stream for themselves even though its not necessary. No way man

If CCP makes a PS4 version, there won't be the need for a Gaikai version. I really hope a PS4 port is made. This game isn't perfect, but I love playing and I know CCP's working hard. What would be great is if the PS4 ver would be more refined. |

Well heres the deal man..... The PS3 uses a unique Cell processor. The PS4 is using a "PC like processor" that is much more standard. CCP has developed the game in Coding meant for the PS3. To send it to PS4 they would have to spend time and money to re-do the Coding so that the PS4 processor could actually understand what its supposed to do. So in short..... Because of how much the community screams and rants about other things CCP probably wont divert coding resources for a PS4 port until the game is actually solid and (atleast close to being complete)..... so yeah. I wouldn't expect a PS4 port for as much as a year after the PS4 is launched (though it could be sooner you never know).
THAT BEING SAID, once CCP does port Dust over to the PS4 they have said in multiple occasions that they wont end support for the PS3 until were about two or three years into the PS4's development. OR until its clear that most of the player base has shifted over to the PS4. To those who get left behind..... well it sucks, but limiting the games development to a five year old console sucks too. |

its 5$ a month dude...... it'll probably be like 50$ a year (if you get a package deal). Which really doesn't matter because that's about the same as the Xbone anyway. Joking aside, I beleive it would depend on two things:
The ease of the unreal engine 3 code being used for the unreal engine 4 code, and whether CCP has the time and resources to deliver a product onto the PS4.
Judging by the quality of the games/graphics on the PS4 and resolution, this is highly unlikely in the latter and time spent on the existing PS3 code to make it look and feel like a PS3 game and not a PS2 game is really the concern for them right now.

I think there is no reason except bragging rights for CCP to release Dust on the PS4 at release of the console. There is no installed userbase and they would have to do some pretty hacky stuff to get the game working on 2 consoles smoothly.
They can't divide the userbase to PS3 and PS4 users, since that destroys the philosophy behind the whole ONE WAR theme.
also, since PS2 and other MMORPG/FPS doesn't require a PS+ membership, chances are CCP can get the same deal.
Even if this isn't the case, PS+ is great value for money already on the PS3, can't imagine the sweetsauce going away on the PS4. |

This, plus Sony have said that PS+ is not required to play online multiplayer free to play games. So if Dust 514 were on PS4 you would be able to play without a PS+ subscription.
