How many of us are actually going to buy a PS4 on release or near release?
Discuss.
With me, not until they drop it to $349 or so, because I'm going to college next year and need to start saving up money. |

sticking with PS3 until good games start to get made for the PS4.
When PS3 first came out games sucked. It wasnt worth the rush. |

I will get the ps4 just for the pleasure of it. Might get bf4 but only will get MGS5 and hopefully a monster hunter game will come out on there. |

Thank God I'm not the only one... I''m saving pennies for that damn machine even though I only got 10 games during two years of play on my PS3. I will most likely sell it if Dust will transfer to PS4.

The general population has been clamoring for a new console for years now, I believe at least 70-80% of the regular console crowd will have a PS4/XB1 by this time next year.
It's too bad though, you can clearly see these consoles are trying really hard to be like a PC... But go figure.. The PC does it better. My gaming machine i built 2 years ago is probably the gaming equivalent of a PS5... |

It depends on how quickly the PS4 kills the PS3, Xbox 360 slew the Xbox Original very damn fast. Whereas the PS3 didn't slay the PS2 until last holiday season.
My prediction this go around though is X360 is going to persist longer than the PS3 in the new generation. |

Depends. The money to buy one is not a problem for me.
What i want is an FPS or two that supports keyboard and mouse and i want to see what games i can play without paying for PS+.
Also i will not buy it on release. New releases almost always have problems and i will wait until those problems are no longer problems.
Also when i am about to buy one i will look very hard at what kind of gaming PC i can buy for the same amount of money....i will also look very hard at the Xbox One. |

I already have a "next gen" system (my PC), so I'll be waiting until there are enough playstation exclusives and the price gets low enough to justify a second, inferior, system. |

Sticking to PS3 until it's clear what Sony is doing with PS4 business model wise and what the support/stability of the hardware actually is after it hits distribution. I'm thinking minimum one year before I'll even be considering a PS4 and then only if Sony has displayed more regard for customer service than heavy-handedness or money grubbing.
I'm not bound to any platform for gaming and usually run more than one so I'm not inclined to compromise on what I want out of a system, and "shiny" hasn't been my top priority. All of which boils down to me crossing my fingers in hopes that CCP doesn't shaft me by at any point making Dust 514 a PS4 exclusive (on PS4, fine cool good for them, exclusive to PS4 = awful).

Excuse me sir but I am a multi platformer. In general it is who can provide me the best deal for their value. Which is why I will never own a Macintosh and I as a freelance computer tech absolutely REFUSE to do any services for the devices.
I had a Zune when it was cheaper but it has since then been replaced by my Google Tablet which as also replaced my laptop.
This generation I feel like I will be purchasing a PS4 first, then a xbone, but the chances of me getting a WiiU are slim to none.
My computer is an i7 quad core, 24 gig DDR3, and 2x 220GTX Nvidias. Its good for another 5-7 years.
I can run Multiple OS's at the same time Linux for some custom tailor diagnostics and bypass tools, Windows for general operations. I get all Windows OS's for free due to my certifications and I reverted back to windows 7 after trying 8 for the promised month, told MS wtf was wrong with it and now its a virtual install just in case I get a weird customer question about 8. |

Everyone always says they aren't going to buy Console X but when they find all their buddies are in the game they go and secretly by one then protest in forums that they are PC-hipster only.
In Australia XBox Live is 10x bigger than PSN for online games. Bigger population = more likelihood of good matches. So I buy an XBox for my multiplayer and a Playstation for my single player.
That said, for this generation, I will need to see something that is the digital equivalent of the Rapture to make me buy an XBox1984. |

Yeah I should but that will never replace monster hunter. That game has a special place in my heart :(, will have to pick up a Wii U for that new Monster Hunter. I already imported the HD version for my ps3 and psp just to add it to my collection x_x |
