We all know that CCP are working on a lot of stuff like EVR, World of Darkness, and EVE Online. Therefore not a lot people are working on the game, because of the different projects. I know that i going to get bad comment for this, but what if they some of EVE online developer to work on Dust 514. Dust is in serious need for a improvement, while EVE online is doing great and can live with few developer. Dust is full of bug and EVE online been awarded best MMO of the year, so yeah it doing well.
I think went they announce World of Darkness and EVR, it came to me is how many people are working on each game. |

CCP had about 600 staff before they took a 20% reduction that was mainly aimed at their World of Darkness division.

Because Mythical ManMonth.
Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later.
This is because any new developers need to catch up in knowledge to the ones who were already working on it, they bring their own methods for programming along with them that conflicts with others, and new project leads bring in new (and not necessarily better) ideas that cause a good amount of work to be redone.
It isn't like digging a ditch, where more shovels makes the hole faster. It's more like trying to build a Jenga tower to a specified height. Lot of ways to about it, but adding more hands late in the game causes the tower to crumble. |

Maybe.
But then the next 100 Jenga towers you build, go up a lot faster.
It's also not like picking up a tennis ball, where getting sixty people to do it doesn't make it happen any faster. |

Steady income stream - New game development costs (should) = new game release
Obviously they aren't gonna equal CoD/Halo numbers with microtransactions, but they should be able to grab a similar profit over time to a good FPS like KZ or even Red Faction (Is that still around?).
Perhaps more, once we get an economy etc... they could potentially grab MMO numbers, if it's worth playing that long. |

This would be more true if we were talking crunch time as opposed to a game that's intended to be in constant development for years.

Frankly, I'd be ecstatic if they dropped Dust 514 altogether and put all the money and manpower towards developing EVE VR.
They can come back to this game in a few years when people actually own PS4s and the architecture can handle what they want to do (or better yet, just put it on PC). |

Yeah sure. It happens sometimes. A developer makes an awful game, only a few people play it, they stop developing for it.
I think they'd be better off cutting their losses at this point. The game is terrible, and every indicator points to them not really having much they are planning to do about it.

Need confirmation on the less then 30 part, anyway progression is always a tricky thing to do.
Coding a game without breaking everything,or what is already there,or what there will be to me is not an easy thing to do,while people are breathing down ones neck. |

I think went they announce World of Darkness and EVR, it came to me is how many people are working on each game. You know there is a whole dev team in China who are responsible for Dust 514.. CCP everywhere else im sure they just send them emails and skype calls telling them what they should add into dust... Your welcome... But CCP in iceland and other places dont have any control of Dust,-- models and visual stuff wise...

Well CCP needs to start making "builds" that appeal to the general public and that have good core mechanics in order to be able to increase the volume of transactions that will generate at considerable profit.
Small staff = Slow progress = Poor satisfaction survey scores =Small profit margins = EVE Online pays Dust 514 bills?
...maybe? |
