I am a blueberry here in the Dust 514 community, lots of reading to catch up on and battles to be played, but I would love to be pointed in the direction (webpage, post, etc...) of whats DUST 514 & EVE's end game. Where exactly are you guys trying to go? What are the Future plans for the game? How will they correlate to each other? I get the fact that we are supposed to be ground troops for the planet battles and help corps expand, but I don't feel that connected to EVE players. I joined thinking we had more in-depth relationships (example: To get across the galaxy I need to catch a ride with an EVE cruiser or battleship) or (example: to receive vehicles in game we needed an EVE player to drop it off). I love FPS, although EVE isn't as smooth graphically, I have enjoyed the first of my days becoming a scout and believe I will continue to enjoy further EVE-lution . Any and all answers would be most appreciated.

let me just crush all your hopes now and get it over with. Dust is a bad fps, bad rpg, nonexistent mmo with a development group that have refused to listen over last 14 months.
Also the link between dust and eve will be limited to as little as possible for ever since both players bases do not want the other to **** with it.

You will be asking this same question in 1 year because this is where we where one year ago.
Most likely we will still be having hit detection issues as well, oh yeah and we will still be playing on the same maps, and balancing will still not have been worked out, come to think of it in one year you will be playing the exact same game that we have been playing for the last year or so. |

A humble question: Sooo, do either of you log in to actually play battles anymore? Because if you don't you should really leave the game alone, and if you do you should stop playing immediately. |

Although a bit on the negative side this does contain a lot of truth.
However if you enjoy the game you have nothing to lose by playing it, and of you don't enjoy it you have nothing to lose from not playing. Right now I play the game in short bursts for a few rounds or so, setting small goals for skills or gear I want to try as I go. Good way too not get burnt out/have time for other games. |

Don't mind us just a lot of frustration flooding the forums at the moment. The link between Dust and Eve at the moment is very tenuous but given time the 2 games should become integral to each other.
Eve has been going for 10 years and has a very complex player driven economy and until Dust is linked to that economy our interactions will remain limited.
As for links you could try the rookie forum or google Dust 514 or check out the vids on YouTube. Particularly the vids made by CCP as this displays their hopes for the future of Dust.
Though the ultimate goal is to make Dust feel like a real universe where our actions have real conseques to New Eden and form part of its history and lore. |

I still playing Dust 514... and DC online, and CS;GO, and BF3, and Battlefront 2, and soon The Last Of Us, and FF14 ...but my long term loyalty to Dust 514, will be determined by what is going to happen in July. |

dont listen to these bastards The sh4dow. I know many an Eve player that likes the notion of Dust bunnies. Eve though, must be the game with the most hardened and sceptical player base there is. some Ppl that master it to a degree can feel they have the right to **** on everything and everyone sometime(cuz it's such a hard fF'ing game it can attract hard ppl 2), but through the evolution of this game there has been some truly incredible wonderfull and special ppl aswell. Where i would put my hopes at is for what will happend in 0.0 security regions with dust and eve, and allso what will be on the other side of the jumpgates when we will possibly next year be able to build our own. On the other side there will be gameplay changes i think. If you wanna know more, look up "dust keynote" on your tube, maby see all the dust videoes, and allso catch the Eve keynote from this years fanfest.

Your joking right? There is no way that Eve will every allow Dust to become anything more than a useless minigame that they might play that is related to the New Eden universe. Eve players have already expressed tons of hatred over Dust and infact CCP has already rolled back some of the connection that Eve and Dust had because the Eve players thought it was too connected. Right now Spaceship can shoot ppl on the ground......and our FW can affect a system by a negligible amount that noone cares about.....
In truth Vexation had it right. It is a game that has/had alot of promise and its not only having troubles delivering but its actually backing off of its promises. Heck straffing has to be nerfed because we dont want ppl moving too fast but LAVs that can take massive dmg and can murder taxi at their whim is perfectly OK! |

Don't listen to the retreads.
People think because they didn't immediately get what they asked for that they were not listened to. This is CCPs game, it will go in the direction they intend, in a time frame dictated by how they allocate resources to it.
Play the game, have fun, and treat ongoing improvements to game mechanics and new content as a bonus when it shows up. If you don't get all uptight about SP and ISK it's not so hard to have fun -- though once in a while you might have to adjust and do something that works instead of what you prefer. |

pretty sure when you post as a fanboi you need to actually post your fanboi ID so we know not to take any thing you say seriously.
For the records this is about ccp not delivering on anything THEY said they would and what they did deliver is pretty bad. CCP doesn't need a cheerleader or patients they need a kick in the pants.

A lot of people seem to complain endlessly yet still play the game so that says something to start with.
At the same time Dust514 is a stage of continuing development like EVE. There will always be small things or large depending on your perspective, that are broken or need adjustment. That is the price you pay for a persistent shooter that you don't have to throw down 50$ every year to play the latest version where your last year of gaming doesn't become useless or wasted time (again, perspective).
Claims that EVE will never have a greater connection is just a bunch of naysayers, unlike most of them, I was able to speak with the devs in person at fanfest. There was only 1800 people in attendance, almost all EVE players, so very few dusties can say they have had the opportunity to directly speak with the devs about addressing their concerns and exploits. A large number of players complained about bugs and exploits for months that CCP had been actively play testing that the player base said CCP failed to listen to. Just ask CCP Scottsman, CCP Cmdr Wang, and CCP ArchDuke. We spent many hours outside in the cold in front of Islenski Barinn drinking a few beers discussing our favorite deaths, weirdest bugs, and just all around fun we had playing the game.
These guys are gamers, they are not accountants, they are not business executives. They play the game as much if not more than almost anyone on these forums.
For the Future of Dust514 I will gladly raise a glass in praise to the staff members of CCP at FanFest again, although maybe 2015 as going to this years and an infant son can quickly deplete my discretionary funds.

The devs come in every two weeks or so when rage reaches the point of boiling over and say all kinds of stuff. Then things go silent.
I don't think they've ever been this bad.
Hellstorm has a district that hasn't produced clones in like two weeks. They've submitted tickets with no response. They've got a thread in the BUG forum that is sandwiched between other threads that have answers.
We spent 240 million isk trying to take a district from SI. It was reachable going into the 4th day, but then CCP was attacked by hackers. So we lost all that isk for nothing.
How many people still don't have their respec?
How long will it take to get Amarr Templar rewards?
But we'll probably get some more new crap to pile on to the list of stuff that needs to get fixed. It's beyond frustrating.
I love this game, well the idea of it. But more and more of the people I've been playing with for going on 10 months are leaving. It sucks.
I honestly don't think they realize how close they are to being a sinking ship with no hope for rescue. |

We have highjacked the OPs thread. We have plenty of our own threads for this discussion and for good or bad I have posted my opinions and thoughts for the future and problems of this game.
If we are not here to answer the OPs questions then lets move on. This world is still bright and shiny for him/her so let them have the fun and dreams that we had at the beginning.
To the OP again do not worry about us we are the bittervet contingent. Stick with other newbs for the moment and have fun you will still find plenty of helpful vets on the (voice) chat channels in game. It's just the forum that's volatile at the moment. I will say there are good reasons why but it shouldn't affect how much fun you get from the current game. |

The new graphics , weapons, vehicles, and Domination (new battle mode) kept everyone interested for awhile but if u look at Dust u can tell that it's really not that different from the previous build and we're just using new gear to fight the same battles over and over again. PC had all these huge corps and alliances fighting for awhile but PC has drained so much isk from everyone. The FW battles are pointless since their just like those instant battles, and now we're most of us are just waiting for the next update which I heard might come in early july but I wouldn't count on anything awesome coming to Dust for another six months. |

At some point you have to ask yourself how many negative posts you can do before you come to some realization your in the wrong place. I have many quirks and dislikes about dust but doesn't stop me from playing it. I went to college for game development but that doesn't make me right. At the same time just because I am siding with them doesn't make me a fanboi.
Try contributing in a manner that isn't insulting and maybe you might get something out of it. Otherwise go ahead and lump yourself into the forum horde like most games and be yet another useless person in a beta who has nothing but complaints.
You're still here to read and post, which is something I generally always consider a positive. But you're also bitter and have a level of animosity and enmity towards other players just reaffirms that the community could be a better place without you.

Tip kinda off subject (learned from my 3 year old) .... If you find yourselves having a hard time, bored, or not having fun anymore learn to pretend again... I have lots of fun playing because I base my Dust Experience on this so far, I am certain most if not all of us could use a little more pretend and a lot more imagination. Because if you are so great at making games, I look forward to your games coming out soon on PS4
