Currently, the star map can be used to get information on what corporations own districts in the given region, constellation, system, planet. It also gives the number of clones available at the district, number of reinforcements to arrive after reinforce timer, and if locked, open, or under attack. We can also see what Structure is in every district.
I will be using the concepts created and used by LacusArts in Star Wars Empire of War, who I believed created a successful and efficient starmap.
Information that I believe should also be present, coming from a tactical viewpoint:Who the attacking corporation is - If we are able to see who owns a district, we should also be able to see who is attacking other corps. From an intelligence officer stand point, it would provide intel in deciding when to attack a corp. If Corp A sees that Corp B is attacking 3 districts, it might be in their best interest to attack Corp B since their forces will be busy somewhere else. The following
example illustrates this concept, not only do will we able to see who is attacking but also possible travel time.
Details on infrastructures - Besides the main infrastructure (Cargo Hub, Production facility, research lab), we have no information on other buildings (CRU, supply depot, weapon installations) that could be found on the district is available until a corporation enters the match. This
example shows general intel on number of infrastructures/ level of starbase, and can be implemented by Dust to show number of districts and advancement level based on clone production.
And the third and most important,
District tactical overview - Everyone is asking for this, A chance to look at the map overview before the match... or at least while at the Warbage. This is a perfect of
example of what I mean. It will go into detail as to the number of capture points, type of weapon infrastructures, other random buildings what might be included to plan out a successful attack/defense. Not only that, but when we get to the point of being able of choosing other infrastructures and where to place them, it shows how the slots will work.
Also, only CEOs and Directors have a seperate window that allows them to see an organized list of districts owned. But the above recommendations will allow a new role in a corporation for someone to fill. When officers get added, one postion will be Intelligence Officers.
Think about it, and feedback is always welcomed.
