The uplink spammers are becoming very annoying lately. I can't seem to enjoy a good match of Ambush or Skirmish without finding these spamm entirely throughout the map and having the enemy team constantly keep attacking an objective at skirmish or spawning in an ambush game and having enemy infantry behind you all the time or making it impossible to survive after spawning because their uplinks are everywhere among the map. A solution to this annoyance would be:
-Making drop uplinks only usable by squad members= Like in BF3 only your squad can spawn through these and no one else making them completely for strategic deployments rather than spamming them like in here.
Now I read that CCP will be adding a "Squad spawn uplink" version along side the normal ones in the future. I laughed because why buy those when you can have an entire team spawn from the normal ones and earn even more WP?
No. Take out the way they work now and only have it so that your squad can spawn from one until you reach the proto tier. Only one drop uplink in the proto tier will make it possible for your entire team to spawn from that uplink. It will also be expensive in ISK and SP. That way they won't be spammed.
-Take out militia variants of the drop uplinks.
Why spec into them when you have militia? Also lowers the chances of then being spammed.
-Make it so that when the merc that deployed the uplink dies the uplink also dies along with him.
Again for a more strategic approach instead of: "Hurr durr I jst deployed a spawn uplink now I just run to battle and spawn again where I left it herp derp" This will make the merc that deployed said uplink to be more cautious on where he goes.
And that's about it I think... I like this game I really do. But exploits like spamming drop uplinks all around the map and have no penalty for it at the same time is really frustuating. Skirmish and domination matches are now depending on which side deploys the most uplinks while Ambush's spawn system is getting f*cked up by drop uplink spammers and making so that spawning for the other team is completely unsafe because you'll never know if you spawned right infront of a heavy that just spawned from drop uplink not so far back.

Stay alive long enough to clear enemy drop uplinks. Problem solved.

Not really. The moment I get near a hive of drop uplinks enemy soldiers spawn and take me out while they are completely cloaked.
And I can assume by this reply you also use the spamming of drop uplinks to win... |

I agree, I can't enjoy a good objective based game when the opponent is actually trying to control said objectives. CCP, make it so that the opponents have to leave the Null Cannons so I can hack them without having to kill defenders!

Because maybe you don't want random blueberrys burning out your precious proto Drop Uplinks because they can't stay alive longer than 2 seconds. It would create more reliable and tactical squad play... or maybe equipment is only used for extra WP, I sure know I never use nano hives to restock my ammo

Why spec into them when you have militia? Also lowers the chances of then being spammed. Well, Milita Drop Uplinks use 50 CPU and 15 PG so they're actually 'heavier' than the Adv versions. You can also have only one active at a time (and thus they cannot be spammed by one person) and they have the least number of spawns per unit and lowest HP. But yah, no reason to spend SP to get more efficient and better gear...

So you should never be able to benefit from the equipment you: spent SP on, paid for, fit onto your suit, and placed on the battlefield?

Umm... use your equipment to your advantage?
Really, they're not that hard to destroy. Flux and Locus Grenades will take them out in one blast, and any opponents spawning on them will be damaged in the blast. Also, weapons with an aoe (like the Mass Driver and Flaylock Pistol) will kill them by "accident" while going after those enemies spawning in.
The reason they're spamming the Drop Uplinks is because they are easy to locate and destroy. If you're not destroying them your opponent will have an advantage in spawn selection. |

I spam drop uplinks and am careful to destroy enemy uplinks. Use flux grenades. You don't have to get close and shoot them. Camp an uplink for a second before moving in to engage if you don't have grenades. They are easy to clear but if you aren't focused on slowly gaining ground and digging in as you dvance with your squad you're doomed.
Goodluck.
