I was waiting for a match to start and I was staring at the planet, and I saw large amounts of water. I figured there should be some sort of naval warfare. It could be like Skrimish, two Battleships shooting at each other and the players try to destroy the other's first. As to what has to be controlled and how the battles will take place, I have no idea. Just a thought.  |

When waiting for the match to start, you are able to see the planet you are about to fight on, and on a certain planet it was about 80% covered by oceans. |

there are planets wth no land at all in eve so i seeno reason why we wouldnt get a naval warfare or totally enclosed complex on the seafloor that we have to board the vessles or breach the complex with mini sub troop transports that latch on to the outer walls of the compund or ship. they could even do this sort of thing with capital ship or pos boarding. |

Naval battles would be totally nonsense , cause there are already space ships or stuff like MCC who can hover trough the place, so why would an army bother in creating a battleship if they can use MCC's. It would only make sense if it is underwater engagements. |

Um, i'd imagine they have some kind of infrastructure we'd be fighting on. There's no reason to have ships. Seriously, play eve online. |

i do play eve, and srtuctures oceanic and storm worlds are submerged on the the sea floor, so how do you prepose we get down there from an mcc flyin in the air dude?? we are going to need some kinda floating platform to disembark and travel down to the seafloor. there could be somesort of elevator on this platform or we could have little submersible MAVs also or even both cause u know if there were an elevator people would try and **** you as soon as the doors opened hell people would even try to do that to the boarding craft if they knew where they were going to dock. |

More armour and weapons and/or cargo carried on a floating ship then a hovering one.
I could see floating infrastructure and floating mcc once we get to fight on oceanic worlds. Floating attack craft too maybe.
Oceanic worlds will probably be a big expansion when added, and the new floating structure will probably be reused on temperate planets too. There will probably be both floating and underwater outposts to attack.
So, maybe in next 10 years, not in next year or two though. Lava, ice, barren, storm, plasma planets can be added with less work and we need the normal gear filled out before working on naval stuff.
gas giant and oceanic will probably be the last planet types to be added, since they need so many things different from the others. |

well ccp has said they are currently working on a gas planet cloud city. so i doubt gas planets are last on the list. |
