So I was hoping people could give me a hand and help me to avoid wasting SP on things I don't need.
So far I think I've only accrued about 600k SP total... so I have a looong way to go.
My FPS style is to play a pretty straight forward team assault role. I don't often come running around the corner guns blazing unless I know the guy on the other side is already hurt. I use a lot of cover and for the most part stay alive much more than your average grunt. I use so much cover in fact, (in other FPSs) I don't even carry a side arm, I just never really get into a situation where I'm blasting so much that i NEED to pull out a second weapon. So far (mind you I have mostly MIL items) the only complaint I have is that the rifles have far too short a range for my style.
So what's the most efficient way for me to make it to some of those rifles that have a longer range? |

TAC is your best weapon for range.
It was recently nerfed but honestly it is still deadly, people simply cant spray-and-pray anymore. You will have to zoom with it and control your fire from what you said, it doesn't seem is your issue. . More rifles will come out down the line that have longer range, I believe it will be the Caldari rifles and Minmatar rifles. Who knows when they will come out though.
If your not worried about upgrading your suit, I would say work on your passive skills, you can get +25% shields and armor with out even using a module if you upgrade those skills. |

so when you say zoom, does the TAC have a small zoom optic attached? or are you referring to how the screen seems to have a small zoom effect when you L1?
I almost always L1. Probably unnecessarily at times. I guess I grew up playing FPS games like AA and also doing some real life training simulations where if you don't aim, you'll barely hit the side of a barn. |

The TAC does have an actual scope. It is a class of Galenti Assault Rifle that tries to emulate the features of the Caldari Assault Rifle which has not been released yet.
The Amarr Scrambler Rifle has more range than a regular Galenti Assault Rifle as well, I believe, and is generally considered to be a well balanced weapon. It does higher damage to sheilds than to armour.
The Laser Rifle has good range and does decent damage (particularly to shields) if you can keep the beam on your target, but it actually has reduced damage at short range, necessitating a sidearm for CQC. The TAC and Scrmbler Rifle have eclipsed the Laser Rifle in this build for some reason. I have not looked into the details. I think it had more to do with the TAC being overpowered than the Laser being in a bad place.
Those seem to be your best choices at this point if you like longer range assault riffles. |

Drop points into assault rifle 3, letting you get a gek. Drop points into gallente or caldari drop suit command. get it to level 3. after that work on your drop suit core upgrades and weapon/suit modules |

You wan to play Simple AR Assault? Get an AR, and Get those Shield Extenders and Armor Plate Skills to 3. Skill your Preferred Dropsuit to 1 and get an Armor Reper. Its all up to you how you fit it. I tried ScR for a bit, but got annoyed with getting Dropped by Heavies, as It can punch through Armor very Well.
Consider a lot of other FPS's like The Law. Its Strict and Rigid, with Little Bending or Breaking of the rules.
Dust is like Burger King, have it your way.
Whether you'll like it your way is entirely up to the Balance and how you Play. |
