Currently Faction Warfare is failing it's most important mission.
That mission is to provide a fun bridge from hisec into the "serious" corp fights in Planetary Conquest and beyond into Nullsec.
Hisec is where individuals build their skills and learn to build squads to win.
Faction Warfare is where squads should build their skills and learn to build teams to win.
Unfortunately there is no way to consistently queue sync a full team into Faction Warfare.
There is also a serious problem with Planetary Conquest.
It's simply not all that fun to watch timers and queue up fights to happen in a day or three.
There is effectively no content for corporate teams outside of these few high profile and expensive matches.
They have nothing team based to do outside of these few fights. There is no place where corps can just play the game with a mix of their players to build skills.
The most effective way to fix this problem -
Expand the squad size for FW to 16 and allow that team to queue and then organize their squads as they sit in the warbarge. This team can consist of any mix of corps and npc corps players, it's just a larger squad.
I suggest a simple "promote to team" command for the squad leader. After promotion the squad cannot queue into hisec matches.
While FW will need other fixes to make it fun and engaging this should be the first priority for the medium to longer term health of the game.

How about this Dust side friendly fire on ,but eve side friendly fire off. This is a step to nulsec. Eve pilots can kill more dusters and the shock of this is real can set in. Come and get it. |

FW needs some work. here's what it needs
1. deploy as team (apparently it needs a bunch of back end work so don't expect it until the next major update - if my people are right)
2. MORE MATCHES. It'll be much easier to que as a team without every match filling up as soon as it's posted. triple the number of fights at the very least.
3. You know how the voice in the warbarge keeps saying that loyalty will be rewarded? yeah. we need that. As a director of Subdreddit I have been trying my hardest to make content for my boys. Give me a reason to send them to fight. You saw what we did with the "let's have an impact in EVE" goal. Help me help you.
4. we need a frontline. right now it's just a neblous clump of names. Name a planet that's on the border of contested territory to be the primary frontline where most of the fights spawn. This will lead to more fights in eve as pilots jockey into position as well as giving dusties a reason to log on and fight. |

Your criticisms make sense, but your solutions not so much. I also think FW should strive to be its own thing, not a bridge to PC.
LP would go a long way here, as well as some sort of "battle front" and synchronization with EVE fights. |

LP isn't coming (anytime soon enough), stop suggesting non-solutions that aren't happening. |

LP!!!!!!!! it needs LP ad faction gear and like noc said also some sort of "battle front"
another thing is it needs to be CONSTANTLY up, currently gotta wait for FW fights to pop up it should always be running.
Another thing it needs is something to show dust players that they making progress on the FW front
+1 to both telc and Noc Team Deploy and higher rewards like LP ASAP plz

Let us plex Districts in the same way that Eve Militia players plex plexes in space.
I want to decide to attack a certain District and be able to do so. I don't want the magical space monkeys to tell me what system I can attack and when and then when I go to select it, I find out that the battle is already full.
It is bullshit.
LP would be nice too. |

This core fix would make FW significantly better as the 'bridging point' between PC and pubs. There would also need to be a better queuing system to accompany it, though. Something where you could queue your team for any match meeting certain criteria - For example, any Gallente match with 16 slots free. Priority should be given to large groups like that, and split-squadding should be avoided where some people can't get into the match.
Beyond that, other stuff that should be done, though this stuff is less essential - make more FW matches spawn. Right now, when I'm trying to get corp squads into FW matches, we have to wait a fair bit to get one. If popularity of FW matches increases with team stacking and proper incentives to play it, then this becomes even more important.
There should also be an incentive to play FW matches over pubmatches - more isk reward, an LP system, whatever. |
