It seems to me that the stat screen at the end of the match focuses on the k/d ratio to much. I would like to see the k/d removed from the public screen in the after battle stats. The player can see the k/d from the first page that shows up. I would like to see it replaced with something like isk used and isk destroyed.
This is why. I think to much focus is put on the amount of kills someone gets vs the deaths. I run into a lot of players that after the match it is the first thing they want to talk about. I guess it is something psychological because a person knows that everyone in the match can see how many times someone died and they feel that without a high k/d ratio in the match they have failed. This brings the focus away from the type of game play that this game is suppose to be.
Think about it a new player feels that if they are getting killed a lot that they are not contributing and then they get in debates about veteran players are to good because they have more sp and stuff like that. If this was removed from the screen and replaced with isk destroyed vs. spent the new player may get more enjoyment out of lets say using a forge to blow up installations and lav's or running around with a swarm launcher doing the same. Also the stat screen may show isk saved if you revive someone to help encourage more support. And also add in assist isk destroyed if you do receive an assist.
Maybe I am wrong but I think this would help the new player base to feel more satisfaction out of matches and remove the k/d sting from their minds. As they get better and gain experience they can begin to transition more into the slayer role if they choose but they would not get forced into it right out of the academy. That being said I personally have about 10 mill sp and I have got past the hurdle of getting pub stomped (most of the time). And I am just trying to make a positive suggestion to help put more focus on team play and supporting the win then just the amount of people you killed and remove part of the COD feeling that is here now. Thanks for reading good day to all |

I agree, there is too much emphasis on K/DR in this game which takes away from its "work as a team to get the job done" orientation that it SHOULD have. It's not about how well YOU did, it's about whether or not you WON. That's all that matters in the EVE universe.
A phrase like "I've died so many times I've stopped counting" is something that would or should apply to this game. That's the way the mercenaries should feel. But right now it feels like "I've killed 3 guys for every death of my own."
It should be about doing everything in your power to grant your team the win. And if that means taking your LAV and slamming it into a retreating, damaged HAV because it just took out your AV squaddie, do it. If it means using yourself as a shield while your squadmate finishes hacking that objective, do it. I have a KDR of way less than 1, partially because I'm learning, and partially cuz I don't care too much.
Yes, I do feel proud of myself when my Kills are higher than my deaths, but I feel way moreso when I know that some of my actions made definitive impacts leading to our victory. |

I am glad that you agree. I think this would help the newer players have some more enjoyment. And even the veteran player to. What does everyone think about this, anything to add or take away from this? |

as a logi, the k/dr doesn't matter to me, sometimes I get not kills at all, but I have saves millions of isk in total, and loose a few suits.
as a logistics dropship pilot, I never get any kills, but my squad is able to launch a full 5-man assault because I fly over the objective until it is captured, and then proceed to the next one.
my accomplishment does not come from the isk destroyed, not from the K/dr, but about the effectiveness of the squad, and everyone should feel that way |

I feel the same way but as stated I hear players constantly worrying about the k/dr from the battle. especially new players. I was trying to come up with a solution to this problem and to help them get more satisfaction out playing the game and to keep them from wanting to quit playing the game. Everyone knows we need every player to stay that gives this game half a chance.
