Why bother?
AR and FG noobs will just QQ till proto vehicles are nerfed to the same point where standards VS AV are now.
You'll just end up spending more on worthless bugged vehicles that still get 2 shot by some dirt cheap forge gun. |

It won't happen bc if the AV balance stays the way it is, it'll take an entire team of ishukone forges to kill a proto hav. thatd make it a win button- the titan of dust. i have no hope. |

Not really. A proto assault forge gun can solo my Gunnlogi. The way I see it it probably will take about 3, maybe 4 proto forges to take down a proto HAV.
It's all about risk vs reward. I risk a very expensive proto HAV and my reward will be tons of kills. I don't see what the problem with introducing proto vehicles will be if the risk involved with using them will be much higher. |

Well I mean, they are coming whether people like or not.
As far as balance I'm not going to speculate on unreleased items.
All I know is ADV/PRO AV is way too strong vs my STD tank.
I would like my ADV/PRO tank to see how it balances out. |

About a year ago to the day nearly we had exactly what your describing here. The problem was that people couldn't be arsed to spec into proper AV or work as a team to take tanks down.
We then had a massive AV buff and an HAV nerf. Go figure.....
Forge guns to this day have never been altered from that point imo. Where as most other things have been tweaked here and there. So now we have this weapon that one guy can use, sit himself in an impossible to hit position and snipe tanks across the map. I haven't checked the range in a while, but last time I checked it could hit further than the railgun on a tank...
There's also been quite a few other weapons added in that deal AV damage compounding the issue.
I'd love for us to have powerful tanks, but as it stands the player base just doesn't want a challenge and they'd rather solo a 1-2mill tank. The whole situation makes the risk vs reward thing a total joke imo. One infantry guy with far less skills and investment can take out a tank.

I agree with your ideas but I have to point out the forge gun range is 300m and the rail turrets are 600m. |

Even with half the range it still hits harder and is more maneverable than the rail, but I digress.
When tanks were in the state I mentioned last year, the onlly people I had respect for were two guys with forge guns working together and taking the time to chase me down and camp me off the map. That's how a tank should be dealt with imo.
The sad fact is that you could call in 4 of these tanks and 4 badass proto tanks on one team was devastating. |

So what's the problem? People don't like a challenge? This game is becoming Call of Dust. It's way too easy for the noobs. Give us high-sec battles, null-sec, etc. Limit it by the reward for each battle. Better players will naturally want more money and only plau null-sec battles. |
