I'm trying to get a definitive view on what to expect as the weapon system solidifies.
I'm assuming that eventually within each weapon class there will be a variation in firing mechanics and ranges somewhat matched by the other classes.
So right now AR's have short range assault versions and long range tactical versions and I assume the burst ones fall in between.
And eventually once weapon ranges are fixed for Scrambler Rifle's the tactical versions will be long range and the assault versions will have a shorter range and so on with a burst model right?
So ultimately the only major difference between picking a weapon class won't depend on the firing mechanics or the range available but more on the effectiveness each has against armor or shields and their individual quirks?

The feeling igot from reading ccp:s response on this matter was that like you said they'll all have variants that try mimicking each races prime function, like gallante are full autos, minnies burst and caldaris tacticals or something. But they'll aim to have slight differences, as in the caldari tactical prolly could be the longest range variant, or maybe the minnie burst will have least recoil, or biggest bursts or something.
In whole i get the feeling they'll try and make 4 "types" of same weapon with bit different flavor, so every player gets what theyt exactly want and you can like you said switch between damage types while having a weapon with the same feeling but slight difference. |

Yah I think I've had enough of this "different race" BS. Since race doesn't matter other than weapon load out its gets pretty stale. How can anyone be the same race when we are all picking different races for different loadouts. So tell me this, what race am I? |
