This season is amazing, incredible even. From the action, drama, romance, to the comedy. I will least the top of each genre this season has to offer using Hulu//Crunchyroll - I'm saving the rest for later, but I hear that Carnville show based in the world of Full Metal Panic is taking everyones hearts by storm. IDK much bout it yet, though.
Anywho:
Romance: You Lie In April - Art, that's what comes to mind when you watch this show, it's just so well done. With the way characters come off as almost half-ass drawn, it catches you off guard when you actually watch the show and see how fluid and beautiful the animation actually is. And the story behind it is just as powerful.
Drama: Yona of the Dawn - Ever seen one of those Korean shows about there history made in drama? If you have, you'll know how amazing they actually are. Deep in characters development and political intrigue, if you're a fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, you're typically a fan of these types of shows. But this one adds several genres to the mix, creating a wonderful tale with one of the most stunningly beautiful and charming female leads this season.
Comedy: I can't Understand What My Husband is Saying - LOL, this show is nuts in a tamed way, yet still nuts. This show would be just be considered bad comedy if the wife wasn't completely awesome, saving the show and making a lot of the laughs real. I would of chosen Twin Tails in this category - but I haven't seen enough of it yet, and ICUWMHIS is just lol
Action: Fate Stay Night - well this one was a no brainer, just watch episode 0 if you want to know what I'm talking about. It's probably the most beautiful choreographed fighting you'll ever see, and it's absolutely stunning to behold. And with an amazing story to back it - you'll enjoy every minute of this show.
Special Mentions: Fruit of Grisaia Parasyte SHIROBAKO Trinity Seven When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace |

Want to try it out for free for a month? Go to crunchyroll.com/sfnerd It's even an app for PS3/4 if that's what you watch on. I then recommend going to the "simulcasts" section or "popular" to see what other people are watching.
If you binge, you can probably finish at least a dozen shows before the month is over. Check through a few pages back in this thread to see some older lists if you need to. Or don't be a scrub and drop subscription based services all together. There are dozens of dozens of sites online that have pretty good quality streaming (former crunchyroll user from before they went legit) How do you expect anime to continue to grow and prosper if we don't support them? If we're not going to buy the manga's and VN's or the anime DvD's, the least we could do is get the subscriptions. That's how I look at it, anyway.
And Hulu technically has more anime then Crunchyroll, but Crunchyroll's list has a lot more quality.
As for netflix shows -
My Little Monster - A must see for romance/comedy/drama fans.
Magi - Action/Drama at it's finest, second season isn't dubbed :(
Deadman Wonderland - hahaha, yea. :3
Gurren Lagenn - probably one of the greatest anime of all time. Just so damn epic, lol.
SAO - Best female character <3
Psycho Pass - Very strong story.
Noragami - A show about japanese gods and how they mingle, it's pretty good, love the music.
The Devil Is a Part Timer - Comedy at it's finest, lol.
Attack On Titan, Fate Stay Night - just awesome action/drama
Blue Exorist/Vampire Knight - great Horror anime, shame Rin isn't on Netflix anymore to finish this trio.
Ouran Host Club - personal favorite, don't judge me, lol.
Arpiego of blue steel - it's a CG anime, but it has great characters and story.
Legend of the Legendary Heroes - I WANT SEASON 2!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okami-san and her 7 compasion - A romance/comedy, good for fans of the genre <3
MADOKA MAGICA - Prepare to have your mind blown, several times.
Katoura-san - A cute romance about mind reading, lol.
Eden of the East - Just a damn good show all around. |

It's from an anime called School Idol Project, and I never knew about this show before yesterday when I was introduced to this song. Kinda interesting show so far, lots of singing and dancing for sure. The anime is actually called Long Live! School Idol Project! And it happens to be pretty good once it gets past a certain part.

Already had; bought it pusan for 2$ and as short as it was it was pretty sad. You may want to check out Steins Gate - it's not a movie, but I have a feeling you'd enjoy it. |

So I watched a show considered taboo here in the States - Kokomo No Jikan.
If you don't know about this show - it reigns as king of the loli perverts. And it deserves that title well, there are so many loli and underaged sex jokes that you start to wonder if the show is even taking itself seriously. Though the theme is taboo'd - I couldn't help but laugh. Some of these lines are just too damn funny coming from an underaged mouth - and what adds to it is that you understand from episode 1 that these kids have a very adult understanding of things. They aren't just trying to be cute - they're articulating these things to come off the way it does, often using it to manipulate a situation.
But take a step back from loli/underaged theme and examine the plot - it starts off STRANGE. By strange, I mean I can't tell if it starts off really, really strong, or it starts off on a horrible note. I honestly can't tell.
The first few moments set the loli ecchi pace quickly, walking into a classroom filled with young naked girls screaming being the way the MC is introduced to us. He's the typical MC - capable but aloof, smart but overthinking, just a generic MC, really.
But then there's the main female lead - Kokonoe. She's anything but generic. I won't say much about her as revealing who she is is a part of the plot, but I will say episode 6 made me both rage and cry. She is an extrodinary character - akin to Holo from Spice and Wolf.
The plot is surpringly deep at times, and with Kokonoe appearing majority of the screen time, much like Holo from Spice and Wolf, the show never misses a beat for entertainment and intrigue.
A pleasant surprise, one i wouldn't recommend to anyone but other anime fans. No one but someone willing to look past the ecchi will be able to see the plot for what it is.
And if you say you didn't cry to episode 6 season 1, you are a LIAR. :3

Your Lie In April is an absolutely fantastic watch.
I thought the violin was pretty good, the piano recitals are out-right amazing. People may actually become fans of classical music after listening to some of the pieces the latest 2 episodes have had.
This show is a work of art from top to bottom, I wasn't expecting to find a show i liked more then Log Horizon or Fate Stay Night, I'm blown away.
This show didn't need fan-service. You get big ass smile service instead. |

So without further ado I present to you all: Demon City: Shinjuku! So yeah I...um...do hope you all enjoy the movie! Sorry, not my cup of tea. The music sounds like something from the ninja turtles first movie *early 90's themes were both terrible and mind-consuming* The VA's quality isn't nearly what it is now - and the plot to this show is obviously rushed and noticeable not even 10 minutes in.
Anime movies in general were terrible with very, very few exceptions. But if you ever try an anime movie night again and you pick Heaven's Lost Property's second movie, let me know ;D |

Looks like I need to re-watch Kokoro connect *Hearts Connect*
I remember enjoying it - but thinking if these character had such turmoil emotionally, then the conclusions weren't appealing enough compared to the problems themselves.
That's more of a failure of the director then the plot, though. Over-all i remember giving the show 4/5 stars. |

Engaged to the Unidentified has a strange way to creep inside your heart and set up uplinks everywhere.
And the movement and adorableness of the OP made me watch the OP every single time.
It's kinda like Yuru Yuri - just so ******* cute.
As for the story itself - it's actually really good. I want a season 2 asap!
And I like how the main female character isn't an overly cute average girl - she's just cute, a bit plump, and with an amazing personality. |

Only seen the first episode, and I'm in love already. The brother/sister are both charming and intriguing, and the white hair girl is even more charming and intriguing. The setting, pace, and how the characters interact so naturally yet so differently, just a great watch so far.
And the animation style - off putting at first, but 2 minutes of watching it, you'll end up adoring the design choices. It's one of those anime, a very rare breed, that doesn't put so much art focus on the eyes - the entire character is beautiful.
I'm marathoning and writing a review on this later. I'll post it here o/ |

Finished Kokoro Connect and despite 14-16 really impressing me the final episode reminded me why I disliked the series as much as I had. Dude desperately needed an editor to tell him that he didn't need to throw in unnecessary third party influences in order to have a compelling character drama. Oh well. Probably gonna start Dennou Coil next. lol, Coil's an interesting watch.
BUT DIS KATANGATAGI :O

****, It took me a while to get over the last episode. Between Akame and You Lie I'm already on edge emotionally, but then i went ahead and watched Kanatanagi.
Huge, mistake. The perfect mistake.
Let me chop this up into sections:
Story - 8.5/10 - The story is about a woman who travel to an island where a deserted family of 2 lives, and brother and sister - there she seeks out a swordsman who uses no sword who is said to have the strongest style of fighting other swords.
She basically accomplishes this in the most adorable way possible and the show throws in a ninja - setting the pace of the show to be light hearted comedy with touches of romance and plenty of action.
The story definitely gets deep - surprisingly so sometimes, but it never lets you go with how adorable the main female lead is. It takes every opportunity it gets to remind you of how feisty and cute she is - all the while she's explaining some important part of the story. It's very off putting when I want to view her adorableness but I have to read words - I rewinded a few times.
But the story itself is basically 1 episode per 12 swords she's trying to collect - except the last 2 episodes where the climax is reached. And it's a damn GOOD climax. One thing I will say about this show - it has a very satisfying ending, one where you wish they would do more, they could do more, you know they want, and you're fine with that. *Is there more/ Plz say yes, the idea of what happens in the end continuing sounds awesome*
The story really does get messy sometimes, episodes sometimes jumping what appears months at a time and right into important parts of the story without explaining itself. It does usually catch up with itself through all the dialogue, but it just made it seemed rush so that they could fit one episode per sword. With a story as good as this one, it was a shame sometimes to see episodes do this.
The ending episode - you will cry. Dem manly tears.
Characters - 9/10 - This show, should never, ever be put in english voices. No english voice actor will ever accomplish what these voice actors have done. The art wouldn't of been nearly as effective without the voices to bring such life to them. From the sister, to the blonde, to the female lead, to even side characters, there was so much life in the characters.
The three female characters that stuck out the most were the sister, the princess, and the female lead. If they were on your screen, you were being bombarded with pleasantness from your ears to your eyes. I don't know how they made art that lacks detail so damn cute, but they did it well.
The male lead too is strong, capable, and his character development is great.
Ah, there's so much more i could say, but it would be loaded with spoilers.
Music - 6/10 it's meh for me. When used in scene it was appropriate, but nothing to write home about. OP and Ending were also pretty average, using up-beat and perky intros and endings.
Over-all - 8/10 - This is a must see for anime fans - ******* adorable <3 No bad characters to be found that aren't felt with immediately - and shocking moments and nice twists to the plot. This is a great watch, if you haven't seen this - go watch.
