Where is the story aspect of this game? Why is there absolutely nothing in the game telling me what I am doing or what is going on, some sort of interstellar news broadcast? It is 10pm do you know where your clone is..... yeah he is sitting on the toilet inside the mcc AFK-ing because there is nothing else to do.
I thought this was supposed to be a ground war?
All I do is go to instant battle and fight the same people over and over... PC battles or the actual battle system is/are a joke.
I tried to find a factional battle, but apparently there are none of these going on as well? (not one that would launch me)
I then tried to find a Merc battle.... the only 1 available is a battle that has 2 bars for connectivity... I can only imagine how laggy that is, no thanks....
So, what am I supposed to do for fun around here? |

You must be new here.
New Eden thrives off of player driven content aka not the story. Even FW for the most part is driven by corps wanting to be better than other corps not the story.
Needless to say all of this is currently in Dust in a limited form, that being PC.
More options for creating content will come with future releases, and hopefully PVE and/or iterations on FW and PC can provide what you seek. |

I know how u feel, Right now PC battles are just expensive or highly rewarding skirmish battles, domination is kind of a mix of Ambush and Skirmish. There really isn't that great of a difference between this build and the previous one.

But CCP didn't even give you a lemon.
To the others.....
So does CCP want me to pretend this is an actual game, to be fair if this was in an arcade... I'd still be over at the pool table or pinball machine versus wasting my quarters on this.
What ever happened to the opening movie from the previous build? There was that (I suppose) empress... followed by some sort of military guy (the admiral?). Right now all I know is that I am on some planet apparently stuck inside a 5x25 room, I can't do anything and there is nothing to do but go into an instant battle.... did CCP change their mind and go from a hazing ritual game to a simple prison sim? |

Same thing you do when all the other FPSs get this way, at lest with DUST if yo come back later there will be things waiting for you. I agree that there is not enough news or anything that make this game feel like something different. http://themittani.com/ has some news that make the game more interesting but we were need some content and more EVE connectivity. |

I'm sad to say that even I have started to tire of this game. I've loved it and defended it vociferously against naysayers and trolls but though I still believe it will be great, it's in desperate need of new gameplay - not new suits; not new weapons; new stuff to do. We don't have the ability to create our own stories because only a score of corps has the will and ability to play planetary conquest and faction warfare is utterly meaningless to us.
CCP has given us lemons, told us to make lemonade but given us nothing to juice with and no jug to put it in and no sugar to sweeten it with. For now we just have lemons. |

I still believe that ccp only mentioned lemons... they didn't even really give us that; ok maybe they gave us half of one lemon and mentioned that the other half might be around somewhere.... but it can't be mentioned in polite conversation.
Listen, my days of pretending I am in the muppet babbies, with kermit and miss piggy using my imagination to have adventures, ended a long time ago. Sorry, but I need at least the bare minimum of a hint of a story to expand on it, even to have some idea of what I am to be thinking about.
So IN my dust, the empress died from the onset of a communicablely transmitted diseases... wink wink.... the imperial consort was a little indiscreet with the working ladies and he liked them cheap. Or is it a plot to overthrow her, does she have a brother?
It is fishbowl, line harvest, & the other one. IF something on the factional map changes... I am not going to now about it, because of the needle in the haystack... and before you say just look around, it is about as fun to do as play dungeons and dragons with a 5 year old and 65 year old making up your party....there you really had to make your own adventures. (which pages do I turn to if I want my dust guy to leave the planet I am on? for those who remember the choose your own adventure books.) |

The update was just a new layer of paint, the gameplay hasn't changed at all. It's still a lobby shooter and it still has alot of bugs and glitches. It may become boring for people that have been playing since closed beta but CCP doesn't have to worry about inactive players because since it's officially released and u can see a pic of Dust when u open the PS store CCP won't have to care if their next update that actually changes the game takes six months or maybe a year because they'll be getting hundreds of new players every week. |

DUST is still a mid-beta product even if CCP decided to slap a "Released" label on it.
They are working on the basic FPS mechanics and will probably require another 6-12 months to iron all that out before they can start working on deepening the game beyond a simple lobby shooter limited to a couple versions of team deathmatch.
We stick around for the promise of depth of RTS to come. Meanwhile we grind so our characters will be able to take advantage of that when it comes.
Having an active corp helps immensely as chatting with your friends greatly alleviates the boredom. You can also make your own game modes like "Death Race 514" to spice things up while you wait, or simply wait the time out in the MCC. |

There does need to be a way to pull the new players into the lore of New Eden. PvE would work wonders for this. Especially if there were small cutscenes playing out some faction based drama that would lead to battles. |

I think CCP has put focus and concern on creating better atmosphere and story. At least better than they have so far. Even with eve it's strange how little information is provided in game, about anything really. I have never played a game on pc or console that requires so much hunting for relevant and current info.
While that is the norm in Eve I think it has made CCP lazy or slightly ignorant to the fact that their games are greatly lacking in the presentation department. Once you learn of the freedom you have it is great, but in the case of DUST that isn't really there yet. So unless you've played Eve, searched down info, verified it is true and up to date then most people coming to play DUST fresh for the first time aren't going to have a clue to much of anything.
It is a major issue because a "new" crowd is what this game is reaching out to, and just shooting stuff doesn't cut it for a long time. So far the early planning and execution of many anticipations have been kind of a mirage. Though it certainly seems they are working on imporving and implementing many things. Anyone following for a while can see they are trying to be creative and learn from mistakes. Personally I'm waiting on 3 things: P S 4 |

No. Just no. if you actually believe this, you are completely blind. the new player experience is so terrible that i can pretty much guarantee you that 95% of the hundreds of new players thwt cone in every week quit in the first few days. A new layer of paint is not enough to fix this game. Unless ccp steps their game up, dust will not last another six months. On ps4, it will lose the only advantage it has; its the only f2p game on ps3. ps4 will have planetside 2, which absolutely demolishes dust in the gameplay department, and blacklight retribution, which has an even deeper level of customization while still letting the players switch it up since they don't have togrind for everything. In its currwnt state, there's no reason to play dust if you have other, more fun free titles to choose from. |
