Hello,
I was wondering which race has the best medium dropsuits in general to invest skill points in and why? Thanks in advance. |

Depends on what you like.
Caldari are best for shield tanking. Gallente are best at armor tanking, armor tanking kind of sucks right now but it will be fixed soon. Amarr have a lot of base health, with a good balance of both shields and armor. Minmatar are the fastests. |

Minmatar mediums seem to be the only ones with a 1hp armor regen, though I wonder if its a bug. It's not going to make a difference in an engagement but at least you can get back to 100% tank if you win a fight.
Its only on the assaults and non role-specific ones.
I believe they also have the best speed and the most medium slots. Worse CPU but nothing a few SP and cpu extender cant fix. |

You're best off looking at the slot layouts, and the modules you'll be able to use on them. Suits with lots of high slots are pretty limited to the tank/gank roles, whereas the Amarr, and especially Gallente, are capable of much more diversity thanks to the variety of modules available for low slots.
You should also consider the possibility of specialising in the future. If you're new to the game, that x8 skill for an assault or logi suit may seem daunting, but there will come a time when you have the sp to spare, and at that time, you may regret e.g. getting a Minmatar medium frame if you don't use sidearms or hacking much. |

Edit: Incidentally, I use a minmatar medium frame quite often, and although it may not net me a good kdr, it is certainly the most satisfying to use.
Thanks, I think it'll be either Caldari or Minmatar for me. Still not sure because of their bonuses though. Caldari with the surplus shield or Minmatar for the speed and triple high powered module slots? |

Now that I think of it; thanks to that 1hp armour repair on the minmatar, shield regulators in the lows are even more viable on that suit. The increased movement speed means you can jump into cover much easier too. You'd basically have the shield recovery of light frames, without the drawbacks. |

Shield tanking is currently the ruler, and from the fixes that CCP are planning for Uprising 1.2, it seems like it will stay the ruler. |
