Oh yes I would love it if the game automatically killed me while I took 15 seconds to check the scoreboard and/or map from within the security of the MCC.
Great idea, totally solves the problem, no apparent drawbacks, POTY, golden thread. +1 |

Great idea, totally solves the problem, no apparent drawbacks, POTY, golden thread. +1 You can do that during all the other wait time half this game is wait time You must be one of those sniping wimps Yup, must be. Someone doesn't like your idea? They must be negatively affected by it!
Have I sniped from the MCC? Sure, once or twice. I even tried it on Domination once after someone said it's too easy to get kills in Domination from the MCC (they were correct).
Do I do it often, or make a habit out of it? No. Out of all the games I've played, I've went and MCC sniped maybe 5 or 6 times total. And even then I only do it for a bit before I jump out. I prefer a good sniping position to a "safe" one.
That aside, I'm a vehicle specialist, not an infantryman. Your accusation is as laughable as your idea.
Also: Don't tell me when to check the map. I'll check it when I please, thank you. |

Granted, people like Exastra wouldn't be able to hang out in there for a minute and check their stuffGÇönot as safely, anywayGÇöbut anyone sniping from the MCC wouldn't be invulnerable and anyone trying to spawn camp the MCC would be a ready target for units on the ground. Sounds balanced to me... I got killed by a tank's railgun shot in the MCC yesterday while checking the map, don't tell me it's safe in there.
Although I am indeed for the ability to snipe back at people sniping from the MCC if it's not already a feature (I was under the impression it was) |

Kazeno Rannaa wrote: People like you are just the beginning of the problem. Redline and MCC sniping is just a childish way to participate in the event of a battle. It is a dirt means of engaging targets especially since the release of Uprising has brought about a reduction in the draw distances for some reason.
A player should be limited in the amount of time that the sit in the redline or the MCC during a domination or skirmish match.
The aggravating issues involved with this sort of thing is this: MCC I cannot always exact my revenge because the opposing sniper is TOO MUCH OF A CRYING CHILD to get out and face the music of their choices, the poor performance of their team, and more than likely the complete lack of communication between the players on said team in the match. This is especially true with public matches. But it has been happening in FW and PC.
Solution is having a timer that only allows a player to be in either location for so long, but if you are not in the active you should no be able to accrue any WP for you actions. This is is you are shooting from the MCC or just behind the redline (which though you may be shot, that is if the redline sniper is not head-glitching, I often cannot chase you down far enough to eliminate the camping spot.).
I would say a 60 - 90 second timer to pickup and move out of the MCC or redline, and any and all kills or assists that come from camping in the redline produces NO WP. The incentive has to be remove if you want to get the dumb cattle moving.
You MCC sniper/RedZone sniper people are like AFK cloaking people. You just won't shut up about trying to fix things that aren't broken. Newsflash, if a sniper is sniping you, YOU CAN SNIPE HIM BACK. Don't have a sniper? Then guess what? It doesn't matter if he's in the MCC, in the Red Zone, at the top of a building, or on a hill on the side of a map! Because you aren't going to kill him from 350 meters away with your Assault Rifle!
Is there a problem with people farming ISK/SP from the MCC by sitting there the whole match? Yes, there is a slight problem there. But it's indicative of OTHER problems. When corps roll a whole squad of prototype equipment and just flamboyantly tosses their stuff around with 2 good HAV pilots and a squad team that's working together, it's just not fun at all for the opposing team, composed entirely of random people just looking to have some fun. When it becomes obvious that all they're doing is lowering their KDR and losing a lot of ISK by throwing themselves at a wall of gunfire, the game becomes not fun. It's no wonder they then decide "fine I'll just stay here then" Prototype equipment, like tanks, are things that should only be able to be funded by a mother EVE corporation to the DUST mercenaries. Losing only a few of these things in a single match should be enough to make you reconsider ever using it for a public match again.
There is no problem with MCC sniping or "Red Zone sniping" (seriously who on earth decided that was a thing?). The problem is with your attitude towards it. Grab a sniper rifle and prove you're better than them. If you can't; suck it. |
