Our alliance has meta-gamed plenty. Some involved the forums (goodbye Unreal.), others involved planning ahead with recruitment (goodbye STB). You get out of it, what you put into it.

Indeed, that's why corps who thought ahead didn't have as many problems as corporations who just wanted a clan. The metagames have only started to be played, hopefully we will be here long enough to see them fully realized. |

Still though, props to the corps that still win their matches when the neckbeards glob onto them, I believe hellstorm had a match like that and still came out on top |

Metagaming is an undercurrent, and shouldn't essentially be endorsed or even acknowledged by CCP. It's between players, and only players.
If CCP implemented mechanisms through which players could 'metagame', then it defeats the purpose because now it's part of the game.
So the forum is only the intermediary between the game and the metagame. If the metagame were so obvious you could create a thread titled "The Soul of Dust: Metagaming" and describe it, then it isn't a metagame.

My point being that this massive part of the game that has always been such a huge draw not just to Dust but Eve is essentially a forum. I'm not saying it's right or wrong or that we need more or less, it's just funny how importantly it was sold for what it is, a Forum. |
