My first day playing was yesterday, and I have to say that people in this game are unbelievably bad. I've only been matched with bad teammates that don't play the objective and then there are the bumper cars that take unbelievably amount of fire to destroy. Is there any competition as I go on and get more SP because right now it just seems like I'm stat padding on bad kids. I'm at a 3.23 K/D right now and just want to get to some more "competition", and have my teammates act like teammates. |

Welcome to Dust! If you've only just started yesterday, then it's likely that you're still in the Academy. So for now, you're stuck playing with the other newbies. When start out, you are only put in matches with other new players (new is determined by having under 10,000 lifetime war points). Once you reach that amount you'll be released into the general mix, and you will go against much more experienced veteran players. You will play with and against full squads of players who are skilled and use advanced tactics.
So no worries, just keep at it and you'll be playing with better players soon. |

Alright, gotcha.
I'm sure when I get out skill will be determined by how much AUR you can buy. |

Not so much getting Aurum equipment as buying boosters for gaining SP as quickly as possible. SP makes a big difference particularly when combined with natural ability etc.
When you leave the academy you will find the environment very different.
From the sounds of it you won't be there for more than a day or two. |

Is there a weapon or any advice that I should have for when I get out of the Academy? |

If you have a mic then make sure it is connected and working. People are more willing to help and provide advice in game if they can speak to you. Joining squads is generally a good idea. Good training Corps would be Dust Uni and Bojo's.
Weapons will depend on your playstyle but AR's are good general weapons if you are not sure which direction to go in. Focus on your core skills e.g. Shield, armour and PG and CPU +5% skills.
Prepare to die a lot to begin with so be careful what you fit to ensure you are not spending more Isk then you are receiving at the end of the battle.
There is lots more but you should find quite a lot of the answers in the rookie forum. |

"You will see just as bad or worse but you will lose to them because they are carried by high SP once you leave the academy."
