From Show Info: Damage: 78.5 HP Rate of Fire: 400.0 RPM Accuracy Rating: 47.8 (People are saying this effects the hipfire only, not the ADS accuracy) Clip Size: 18 Max. Ammo: 300 Reload Time: 3.0 s Meta Level: 9
Well, time to break out my alt and see how it feels.
As for my personal opinion about pre-nerf: I have always sucked at semi-auto fire weapons, so I'm indifferent about it when it comes to using it.
When it comes to encountering it pre-nerf: I was always irked that this was the weapon of choice for long and short range combat. Seeing that they not only changed the RoF, but clip size, and bullet-spray/hip-fire, it's going to be interesting to try and get close quarters against this gun. |

so did 90% of people that used it. Have you seen videos of some people using this gun? TERRIBLE aim, but it didn't matter. They can spam away cuz they had a **** load of bullets in the mag, and the best hipfire of all the AR's and manage to get lucky kills cuz of the high dmg output.
Now you'll start seeing allot less Tact. AR's, not because of the nerf directly, but cuz people now actually require skill to use it |

Eh. If you're a scout, it may not be the player sucking, it may be hit detection sucking. Scout is so random cause it seems like the game just rolls a dice to decide if anyone in the world can hit you. |

Got to play a few matches with it this morning and it wasn't hit with the nerf hammer like I feared it would be. At med to long range it still is a great weapon, the slower rate of fire doesn't affect it too much just when you are trying to hit a running target. Up close the hip fire is wide enough that quite a few of my shots wouldn't find the target, but enough do so hip fire can be used if needed. I will probably continue to use it because I still can't stand the standard assault rifles. |

Clip was reduced to 18, you want even less? Like 6 or 8?
Edit: max ammo shouldn't be a worry because the weakness is when reloading. |

The ammo efficiency on the TAR should reflect with the other weapons. Other ARs as well as other specialty weapons have to resupply often giving ammo conservation/upkeep a purpose. Hell the sniper rifle which is pretty much an extreme range/damage version of the TAR, needs some form of resupply often. TAR with its current 300 max (which increases with 25% ammo skill) can go a whole life without needing a resupply making nanohive redundant outside of supporting other bullet starved teamates. |

Not every weapon needs to be identical on all terms. That kind of difference is more like having different role on the battlefield. More total ammo doesn't help you pwn in encounters.
Now that being said, pure gunfight balance is important as it is bad to have one/few weapons which are only ones sensible to use. |

It is true that the average Tac is much more independant from nanohives compared to the other ARs. Time will tell if this is balanced by the fact that Tacs are no longer in the front of the battle where nanohives generally are so their ammo efficnecy is rather needed than imbalanced |

In my second post, I wrote about the importance of ammo conservation. Yes gun balance is important but the ammo count is there to remind you that you're not made of bullets. Having to fall back or look for ammo resupply is to keep you in check on and off the battlefield.
If you wanna put this in context, you have a nanohive sitting in an safe area and a bunch of teamates passing by. While everyone stops by to resupply, the TAR user just keeps on walking. In the front line, you have teamates running out of primary ammo and turning back to look for/asking for ammo while the TAR user is still firing. |

Those numbers don't look so bad, I was getting torn up last night pretty bad by these. Hopefully this will restore order to the madness. I'm a fan of the tac just because it conserves ammo and increases range, the smaller magazine and increased hipfire spread won't stop me from using it or enjoying it and let's be honest, only guys with modded controllers will be QQing about the decreased RoF. Looks good CCP! |

To be fair, I was probably busting the theoretical RoF cap using my mouse, as I can tap the button pretty quickly without sacrificing too much accuracy.
As for the rest of it, I'll have to try the gun out when I get home from work. Any news on the recoil? |

But now, CQC professionals can now fill their role and get close to a TAC user. And now when you DO get close the TAR doesn't magically turn into a CQC-HMG-Forge-Gun-rounds-Shotgun-spray insta-gib weapon.
It actually stays as a TAR.... |

Just had one of the best domination matches ever on this toon using my GLU. I'm glad they removed the potential for abuse without making the weapon useless. The TAC feels appropriately balanced to me right now, but I'll wait for more knowledgable people to verify that. I also agree that the total ammo capacity feels overly generous, although the 18 round clip size seems about right. |

The hipfire kick is still too low.
That means it is still far too easy to use in CQC and also behaves so differently from 'controlled' firing while scoping - where the kick IS.
On the other hand RoF penalty mightve been a bit too big, although not much |

Played with the new one and while the hip fire and clip size changes work out fine the rate of fire changes severely hamper the weapon Not only can most people pull the trigger faster than 6 times a second but when you do exceed the ROF limit the gun starts to stutter like a kid with stage fright so you end up putting less bullets down range than even the breach
Keep the hip fire and clip changes, revert back to the old rate of fire |

I agree. The TAR felt very unweildy using it yesterday from the day before, and the RoF is over done in my opinion. Personally I'd like to see the RoF returned to what it was, but the mag reduced to 12. |

Clip size of 16 on the duv tac, kind of ridiculous that almost nothing increases when you make the jump from adv to proto with this particular weapon |

That's a very good point. I say 12 because it would hinder the CQC of the weapon. Forcing players to take cover and reload, thus limiting the weapon's DPS. However I could see the Duvolle TAR being 18. It would still be a 6 round increase, just before from 24 to 30. |
