for the longest time I've been convinced that there was something that didn't feel right about the urban sockets and I think I've found it. the city structures feel plastic they feel pristine and un-lived in the trucks on the side of the road and the unmarked walls it doesn't feel like a war zone. dirty up your streets add dust, little piles of sand that blew in from the wastes. burn out some of the vehicles, black twisted hulks rather than neatly parked lorries. take some bits of your road and add craters to them. while you're at it pop out some windows on the sky scrapers and set them on fire. make it feel like I'm fighting a war not a battle.
I know ccp has expressed interest in semi or fully destructible environments but this would be a nice touch till then. SRC: fan fest 2012 socket explanation I'll link it if i can find |

They could still change the textures to make it look more war torn than it does currently. Bullet holes or laser/plasma burn in various areas, vehicles on their side, papers laying around (do they still use paper in new eden?), cracks in the concrete, fire damage, etc.. Destructible environments might be out of reach at the moment but destroyed ones aren't. |

You could seendust parricles blowing in the wind in maps (and in the warbarge ) and garbage bins/bags before Uprising release... Had no time to look for them after release. Anybody had seen it too? |

They aren't cites, they're industrial outposts. The kind of outposts corps use to manufacture and store clones. They aren't suppose to feel lived in. |

But the existence of vehicles in many of the maps implies that some people worked at the outposts which would give at least some lived-in building. |

Good point, though I don't even think CCP hs a lore reason for having them around besides as cover or something. I would really like an answer from them about how these outposts are maintained, staffed, and if there are people living there, of its done by drones or something. |

even something simple like putting a coffee cup or a rolling chair about would make an improvement. little things, if it isn't lived in then perhaps some grass popping through cracks in the concrete, or a dune swallowing a portion of the wall. |

The thing about the lag is that it's largely serve side issues, connectivity, or shotty programming. Most of the games released on ps3 don't actually use most of the system's full power. The ps3 can handle the work fine, it's the programming and servers. Plenty of games have used destructible terrain, more detail and even far more physics, all in the same game and run perfectly fine. Dust doesn't even have water, for crying out loud. |

This is basically a simple static texture change OP is suggesting. It would take some time to implement, but I too would like "weathered" versions of most structures. Support. |
