since there is all this requesting for respecs nonsense i think it should be clear enough that there should be some sort of in-game system simar to to the neural remap system in eve which will allow a player once every 6 months to gain a respec point which can be used to reset all the skills on ur clone (no isk for skill books refunded) and the respec points can be stacked to a max of 2. so if u were to use both pionts within days or weeks of each other it would be a full year before you would have 2 respec points agin. it would add more consequence to respecing and make it a usefull tool as well. its not like i need one or anything but it would seem like less work on ccp's side if their was a system like this, mag had something similar is why i assume people keep asking for it, i knew from eve what to expect with skills in dust though |

This suggestion will have a few replies:
"Ugh, respec is terrible! HTFU!" "EVE remap is used for Attributes because every race was once different. It is not a real respec." "Yeah, give us respecs!" "I think there should be respecs but it should cost you some ISK." "I think there should be respecs but it should cost you some AUR." "I think there should be respecs but it should cost you some SP."
This game is stuck between a Rock and a Hard Place. The Rock is the Arcade Style gameplay that FPS/FTP get a lot of steam on and the Hard Place is the EVE consequence/hardness. The Rock suggests that having some flexibility would be more fun while the Hard Place demands the game to be intense.
No one can really decide or agree on where the game should be; Rock or Hard Place.
Be well. |

i see where ur commin from man and honestly i too am one of thoose people who is tied of seeing all the respec threads requsting and whining so im just putting my perslective on the matter out there . my main point to this post is to state #1 there needs to be an in-game system to do this, #2 it should cost you isk for all of the books required, and #3 it should cost time as well, so people cant just go around changing every month. |

quite possibly, because those are a long line down the freaking road with the rate they are working on them.
when new stuff comes you you expect to instantly get all points in a weqapon you specilized in back? or a suit type? please, if they did that there would be no point to even go past MLT grade suits |

I don't get why everyone hates things that make the game easier but still complain that things are under powered. :/
Anyway I'm all for 2 respecs per year keeps people from just jumping to the flavor of the month while still allowing people to change up their play styles once in a while. +1 to you good sir! |

Bumping this forum
With all the dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons not quite out yet, there should be some repercussion to dust players as far as getting a re-spec. I know a lot of people are dying for one (most likely TAR users or people who dump skill points in things that do not help them at all). If I was to get a re-spec, I would do what I did last time. I would just hold off a week and plan ahead before spending my skill points. But at the same time it could change the game around promoting what is meta or not. |

Because "MLT" sucks? Because you Don't use it and neither do I?
And I don't see what skilling past milita has to do with the OP :| |

milita gear is awesome if you put a little sp into dropsuit upgrades and assault rifles, i never said milita stuff sucks but there is a serious issue with the lack of suits and wepons and not being aloud to respec through an in game function
milita gear is awesome especially when u know u can kill proto ppl with it |

I don't want another respec myself, but I agree wit OP.
As far as CCP is concerned:
-> It will make more people more happy than it will make unhappy, if this is allowed in moderation
-> Newer items get used on the battlefield more and their impact appears more quickly
-> People will stop asking for it and complaining
-> It can make some $$ (in aurum fees)
Why wouldn't they do this? |

Respecs should just be free until they can properly balance the game without swinging nerf bats at our SP investments.
Normally I would have said "HTFU!" or "New Eden blah, blah, blah.." but those mantra apply to choices you make not changing overnight through CCP breaking the 4th wall. We shouldn't be forced to live with their mistakes nor should we have to pay for them. |

No more respecs with the exception of the ones petitioned before May 31, 2013. Just let this stupid nonsense about respecs die already. |

There's a lot of feedback regarding respec, read this thread on the issue as it's one of the latest in a long line of duplicates.
If you want closer to a TL;DR version then start with my post #92 there read and follow along with it's contents.
Cheers, Cross |
