 Dropsuit balance and bonuses . You should give the basic suits a single bonus btw something the same across race. And they would stack with the nee bonuses and give a reason to bring basic to 5 becuase it would increase the bonus on all suits.
 Yeah, we're going to be bringing the race bonus down onto the basic suits. It's one of a few adjustments to the dropsuit progression we'll be outlining in the next few days. Some adjustments we'll be making very shortly, but others will be a fair bit later. ---on 2013/05/21

 I'm guessing not. With the way things work around here, a Basic Caldari would end up getting the same bonuses as the Proto Caladari. If that happens, CCP i want my SP back

If I were to guess they will likely buff the racial bonuses and basic will get nerfed versions. Don't forget also that basic proto costs 10k more for proto, which is a big deal to me. Cuz i like money.

 if anything it should be a reduction in CPU/PG of modules and equipment.

 Basic suits were put into the game to give players with less SP a chance to fight against proto players. That's their only purpose. After skilling it up to three people should be focusing on getting their racial suit.

 I'm thinking the way they might go is something like...
 
 -Remove all proto/adv suits, make most suits basically proto slot layout.
 -lower base PG/CPU stats on all suits
 -increase SP costs and effect of engineering/circuitry and/or core upgrades skills.
 -develop tree as follows:
 
 (Racial) Basic Suits (w/ Racial bonuses from (racial [size] dropsuit skill)
 Level 1: Unlocks basic suit v. 1
 Level 2: +racial bonus
 Level 3: + racial bonus & Unlocks Assault suits
 Level 4: + racial bonus & Unlocks Logistics suits
 Level 5: Unlocks basic suit v. 2
 
 (Racial) [Role] Suit (w/ racial+role bonus) (better base PG/CPU and better role:slot layout)
 Skill level corresponds to the racial role dropsuit skill
 Level 1: Unlocks role suit v.1
 Level 2: + role bonus
 Level 3: + role bonus & unlocks role suit v.2
 Level 4: + role bonus
 Level 5: + role bonus
 
 The v.1 suits in each grouping would be the primary core racial roles for those suits. The v.2 suits would add a little different utility, or possibly have different role bonuses based on the suit not based on the skill.
 
 E.g
 Amarr Basic Suit v.1
 Racial bonus: 5% reduction to laser weapon heat buildup per level
 Amarr Basic Suit v.2 (+1 equip slot, -1 highslot)
 Racial bonus: 5% reduction to laser weapon heat buildup per level
 
 Amarr Assault Suit v.1 (old adv look) (higher base PG/CPU)
 Racial bonus: 5% reduction to laser weapon heat buildup per level
 Role Bonus: 5% shield recharge rate per level
 Amarr Assault Suit v.2 (old proto look) (higher base PG/CPU)
 Racial bonus:5% reduction to laser weapon heat buildup per level
 Role Bonus: 10% reduction to armor speed penalty per level.
 
 Amarr Logistics Suit v.1 (current proto layout)
 Racial bonus: +5% efficacy of armor repair modules per level
 Role Bonus: +1 HP/s armor repair rate on dropsuit per level
 Amarr Logistics Suit v.2 (+1 armor, -1 shield, +speed)
 Racial bonus: +5% efficaty of armor repair modules per level
 Role Bonus: -10% PG/CPU cost of remote explosives per level
