The redline is a fine idea. But the problem is there are weapons with ranges high enough that it can get abused- both ways. I propose that the redline stops gunfire, tank shells ect, nothing comes in or goes out. This stops the Snipers and rail snipers abusing their roles as long range, and also stops spawn kills, among other things.

It would be nice to not see two tanks and half a dozen snipers sitting on that one ridge behind the redline in Manus Peak |

I'm sort of debating in my head whether not letting friendly vehicles into the enemy redline is a good idea. Perhaps things will clear up when the 5KM maps become available. |

Hacking 'gainst the timer, As I'm running past the 'liner, Too busy looking forward, I'm standing right beside her.
Droppin' down on bended knee, No way that sniper sees what I see.
I'm a redline runner, I take the stage, Gonna write it in blood as you sit in rage, I'm low down dirty as I'm droppin in, Gonna hunt you down and take the win.
Shotgun sniper written of in action days, Huntin' down redliners can't count the ways.
Punks want to cry Redliner, Scrubs want to cry learn faster, I want to give a reminder, Anyone can kill a Redliner.
Squad up, suit up, wake up, Before you give up take up, Strategies are a given, But you're lost before you're livin, If you're cryin' - Redliner. |

gloomy guss wrote:Longshot pls stfu Just calling it like I see it. The majority of the negative vibes I've seen are from people who forgot to take their socks & shoes off before stepping into the kiddy pool and are still complaining about their feet being wet hours after walking away from the game. They only bother wading out, but they never really get to the deep end or bother learning out to swim.
Redline kills vehicle play? bullkittens.
If someone's redlining a vehicle that means you know exactly where it is & with a good squad (or an exceptional solo player) you can take it out. I'm sorry that I don't see doom and failure in everything like some people -- when I play Dust 514 I see a challenging, intelligent shooter that requires forethought and planning to achieve true success in individual matches. |

The redline acts as an anti-spawn camping mechanism. By spawn, I refer to the PRIMARY/initial spawns for the teams.
Otherwise, in game modes like skirmish and domination, it would become possible for teams to simply camp an overrun enemy by parking tanks, LAVs, dropships, snipers, proto suit/armor/shield wearing Duvolle tac assaulters and heavies at their primary spawn(s), would it not? GG? |

I think that real problem is that we do not have a singiel map with huge mountain at middle of it . Every single map topography looks like crown - mountains at the edge, next to redline. Don't blame RHAV's - blame maps. If main base and MCC would be on flat surface we would see HAV & Snipers on different mountains. |

I really like this idea. It maintains the purpose and function of the red line, to allow a pushed team a place to push back from and stops the lame rail gun tanks and redline snipers. yes the redlined team can't shoot beyond the line so they can still be laid siege to, but they still have a place to spawn vehicles etc to siege break. |
