Just a quick question on the laser rifle.
I seriously love this weapon and just got the advanced one. I just looked over their stats, and there's no difference between the standard, advanced, and prototype anywhere except heat buildup.
Does this thing do more damage at any point? What's the advantage of using a prototype over a standard other than a bit more overheat? |

Remember that the damage of the laser increases the longer you keep it going. The added heat resistance lets you keep it going longer, allowing it to reach more powerful levels and do more damage. |

Ah well, just gonna have to throw on more damage mods then. Thanks |

The damage increases while the weapon is fired, not necessarily while you hit someone. And yes, that means you can "preheat" the weapon by purposely firing and missing (and not giving away your location), and then swipe it across the enemy for maximum damage.
Having lower heat-build up means you can keep firing it longer, thus increased damage |

Guess I thought wrong |
