http://wiki.dust514.info/index.php?title=Skill_Points
Dust 514 has a cap on how many active skill points you can earn in a week, in order to retain some balance between casual and hardcore players. The current system will allow you to earn 190,400 SP in a week by playing matches, and once you exceed this you will only receive a maximum of 1000 SP per match, at a rate of 1 SP per war point. The weekly cap resets at downtime each Wednesday, 11:00 UTC. Currently, if you do not reach your cap before a reset, then that potential SP is lost.
So basically I'm not getting what I paid for?. I paid to get some sp boost but little to my knowledge the more I played the more I was getting penalised. The cap would only reset after a week when the downtime has been done. So if I paid for a 7day boost, that means I have to limit how much I played to gain more sp?. By me playing alot I then go over the cap and reduce my maximum bonus skill points down to 1000?. Takes 7 days to reset and I got a 7 day booster?...er I think we are being ripped off here people.
Ain't getting my money's worth (if you can call it that?) I most certainly am not getting what I paid for.
Let me know what the rest of dust514 players think?.
Thanks. |

I am truly confused; what are you complaining about? A seven day booster lasts seven days and awards you extra SP in addition to your normal SP gain. How this works is detailed in a sticky in this same forum: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=74943&find=unread
You're mad that a seven day booster lasts seven days? God forbid something in this game make sense, right? |

Don't worry, in the future there will be a roll over system, so you can always catch up
So if haven't played for a month you have 4 weeks of sp to grind through, the active booster will increase the cap of those past week *for some dumb reason* So I can see the booster becoming popular as a catch up item.
Then again it's ccp so we might never get it |

cap sp 190k + active boosters 95k per week active. after cap is hit max is 1000sp per macth with booster 1500.
the active booster is always working, but gaiges by the standard SP earned. So it is working 100% as advertised. always giving you the +50% SP per match.

Until a roller is put in place they need to increase the amount of sp we can gain in a week. With the new skill tree, it is now an even longer grind to get any decent to actually fight with. |

So fixing the fact of no rollover by further punishing those who can't for whatever reason make the cap. That seems like an excellent fix right there. |

Your definition of the active booster is faulty. The amount of SP you can earn in a week is umlimited with or with out an active booster. The 190,400 SP cap is only the BONUS SP cap. The active booster effects ALL SP earned. As you pointed out, you can still get SP and bonus SP from completing matches. It is an utterly false statement to claim that the you have to limit the amount of time you have to play to gain more SP. No matter which way you do the math, the more SP you get. If you don't want to have an active booster running when your bonus SP runs out then buy the shorter boosters.
If you are having buyer's remorse over your purchase, you have nobody to blame but yourself for not having researched prior to purchase. You didn't want to take the time to understand how it works. So it should come as no surprise to you that it didn't work the way you thought it would. Just be smarter about your money and don't impulse buy.
It's not CCP's fault you chose to remain ignorant. |

Oh, so you've only just discovered the concept of "value." Yes, some things are a better value than others. If you can grind to cap in three days but don't want to split a 7 day across a cap reset, then the 3 day booster is a better deal. What. A. Surprise. Next you'll tell me getting a job at odd hours will allow you to dodge traffic jams or setting an alarm lets you wake up whenever you want.
And you may want to get yourself checked out, you're repeating others. |

Nope. It's purely CCP fanboi pipe dreams. Some devs mentioned a few times that it was something they were "working on," not unlike the hundreds of other features we will never see that we have heard about over the last year. |

I bolded the operative word. IF you can cap in 3 days, why are you buying a 7 day booster? Not everyone can cap in 3 days. |
