After running the gauntlet in FW, I've got a couple suggestions on how to give the EVE supplied orbitals a bit more flavor.
Hybrid - It's fine as is. devastating AOE attack. it's able to destroy a mind boggling amount of ground troops. no major tweaks are needed.
EMP - I have never thought " oh man, I wish I could take the shields off of everything in the area, but not actually kill anything". If installations were weaker this might be useful for taking an area without destroying everything.
Lasers - They are freaking awesome to watch. I just wish I could use it to destroy installations. It'd actually be a tactical asset one could use to change the flow of the battle instead of just a series of explosions. It makes sense that an OB could be able to blow up a small surface structure.

Shouldn't EMPs also disable things as well as demolish shields? Such as "freezing" installations or vehicles for a set time? |

emp's should not just disable shields, they should disable the whole thing. dropsuits are powered by electricity right? so get hit by EMP, and the dropsuit loses all power and you fall due to the heaviness of the suit. |

When I used Lasers in the Closed Beta, they were more than capable of vaporizing a CRU in one shot. Have they been changed since then? I've mostly been using hybrid for the larger blast radius.

everybody hates everything. I somehow seem to be out of fucks. The EMP strike should have some use -currently there is no reason to call it in. |

Hybrids - High Power, high coverage orbital bombardment capable of devastating enemy infantry in the area. With some lucky shots installations and vehicles will also suffer, but the AOE nature should give a well tanked HAV the ability to make out with heavy damage sustained.
EMP - These should disable shields and interfere with all electronic equipment. Temporarily disabling vehicles, and perhaps rendering all installations as neutral. For example, the enemy is holed up in an area with a CRU, turrets on both sides, and a supply depot. Rather than calling in a Hybrid bombardment, an EMP bombardment instantly denies them the CRU and the turrets, allowing you to sweep in and claim the area.
Lasers - Less power, but more focused orbital bombardment. Useful for taking out enemy vehicles and installations that are contained in a smaller area as opposed to the mass infantry execution of the Hybrid strike. The damage per strike would be less than the Hybrid rounds, but you are far more likely to get hit by multiple strikes as opposed to one. A more powerful version of the Precision strike.
So with this you have Anti-Infantry AOE from Hybrids, Asset Denial with EMP, and Anti-Fortification from Precision. |

weakening peoples tank for 4-8 seconds while not actually destroying any clones is pointless. when they turn on friendly fire then it might have a use as is.
I'll still call for lasers or hybrids though, as those will be useful no matter what and cloning people out or destroying vehicles is much better than dropping shields for <10 seconds. |
