If it was a test server yes but unfortunately we're in a live environment we already having impact on Eve Online costing them or saving them millions upon millions of isk in efforts. A reset now would be extraordinarily harmful. I would like to see a possible optional zeroing out for characters instead. Keep the name but nukes their sheet clean. |

Ok, I don't presume to know the first thing about game design or business management, but it seems to my tiny mind that a full wipe of all but name might be harmful to the game - or at least to the games active player count? I, for one, would find it very, very difficult to motivate myself to start grinding away to recoup the (modest) 6.4 million sp that I've accrued since January. It feels like I've poured my heart and soul into this game, and have been happy to do so, as I love it! But part of the reason I love Dust so is the progression of my guy, and how he feels like the culmination of all these past five months or so efforts. If the decision is made to reset good old jin back to zero, then I don't think I have the heart to start again. I certainly don't speak for anyone else, but there must be (many?) others who would feel the same way. WAIT! I've just re-read your post Wolf, and you said OPTIONAL zeroing out. Forget everything I've said. I will not be opting to flatten good old jin. I will endure! All the other clowns can do what they want. phew!!!  |

Optional as something like a service you pay for, mostly for new players that screw up thier intital skill set and want a quick start over without losing their name. |

The ability to change names would please many for various reasons. Time goes on and you made a name associated with corp X and u are no longer a member. Things of that nature should be allowed in some way or another. Wiping characters...if u really wanted to do that then just make a new character.
I know if this game has another hard character wipe I don't know many that will come back with all the crap we already deal. That would definitely be the straw that broke the camels back |

Unfortunately name changing has been well fought against by the developers for 10 years and counting, you made a character you have to deal with that consequences. |
