As a new activity for a future EVE Fanfest, I thought it would be cool to have Dust-styled laser tag. It would generally be the same rules and setup as normal laser tag with some differences.
One difference is that participants can customize a fitting just like in the video game by choosing from laser tag equipment that characterize the gear the video game. They will all have different attributes like those listed below:
Dropsuits
- Assault: medium hitpoints
- Logistics: medium hitpoints, can hold more equipment
- Heavy: high hitpoints
- Scout: low hitpoints
Equipment
- Nanite injector: can revive downed players by touching laser tag vest
- Repair tool: gives back hitpoints
Weapons
- Shotgun: -5 hitpoints per shot
- Assault Rifle: -1 hitpoint per shot
- Scambler Pistol: -2 hitpoints per shot
- Scrambler Rifle: -2 hitpoints per shot
- Sniper Rifle: -5 hitpoints per shot
- Heavy Machine Gun: -3 hitpoints per shot
- Forge Gun: Feedback requested
- Flaylock Pistol: Feedback requested
- Mass Driver: feedback requested
We can also choose modules from a touchscreen which can range from the current ones in the video game.
Another difference is that people who don't want to run around and sweat but still want to participate can do so by using a laser tag version of orbital strikes. They can send them using a touchscreen with a map of the arena. The strikes have to be requested for them to work.
What also makes this unique is how participants can get back into the fight. If they run out of hitpoints, they have to walk back to their starting area or wait for someone with a nanite to revive them.
Laser tag with a Dust 514 twist can make EVE Fanfest a more enjoyable experience and provides an opportunity for rivals corporations to prove who is the best. If you have any suggestions, please post them here and I'll edit things accordingly. |

Or we could do DUST Airsoft? I mean, almost all of the weapons can be substituted with current airsoft weapons (but the airsoft minigun I've seen costs $4,000+ USD, so...) The main things that would need to be worked out would be armor, weapon cosmetics, and orbital strikes. |

Come up with something for Nova Knives!
How many hitpoints would each of the suits have? Also, sniper rifles = OP since laser ones don't weigh much and no kick etc. |

Also, sniper rifles = OP since laser ones don't weigh much and no kick etc. I'm not sure how Nova Knives can be used in laser tag. As for hitpoints, maybe they can be the same as those in the actual game. For sniper rifles, most people wouldn't know how to use them so they'll most likely won't be OP. But if they do, adding more weight to them and installing something to simulate kick would solve the problem. |
