no, seriously, hear me out. if you afk in the mcc to skill cap each week, in addition to the passive sp, you can get to your skill cap in roughly 50 battles, which you can easily do in about 2 days.
as a result, i'm able to enjoy dust as it is, occasionally, instead of needing to grind all week to keep up with the real crazies with 12mil sp who roll through pub matches constantly. I still need to play to make isk, and since i usually do all my AFKing in the first two days of the week in one or two long stretches, i can spend much more points at one time and get a better sense of advancement (skilling up two or three skills at once instead of just one per day of intense grinding maybe).
the recent ign and GTV reviews made it clear how people dislike grinding in this game, and i agree. ccp really should change the sp gain model to eve; all passive, but able to buy boosters to get more sp per week. this means you play the game for the sake of it, instead of needing to grind |

Having to grind is terrible for games in general. People should play because its fun, not because they feel the need to get some carrot dangling from a stick.
I found this thread in the feedback section proposing removing all skill requirements to use items, but instead make all the skills for getting passive bonuses. It also suggest a 10x ISK cost from one tier to the next to moderate high tier stuff. |

Its the fact that we don't have a SP rollover system thats really killing it.
I would stop afking if I knew I wasnt going to lose that SP next Wednesday.
Even if I fall behind sometimes and my bonus racks up a bit, s'all good to me.
Although I also wouldnt be opposed to increasing the passive SP gain and leaving in the SP softcap mechanic.
Marginal reward for playing well, but nothing special. |

Increased passive rate and lower the active by 1/10. Rewards play but not afk, everyone for the most part Moshe at the same pace but the good players and people who play often will get more, faster. The grind mentality is the worst part about this game. When people play for more points instead of for fun or to win then I this not a good mechanism |

Just go 100% passive and update content that makes us want to play instead of making us feel like we need to play. I'd rather play the game than have it play me. |
