Hello,
I, like others, have asked for a skill respect. I would not be writing this request if it had not been for a poorly phrased mail I received after i submitted my ticket. This mail was an automated message given to all players who asked for a respec. In this respons CCP stated "Please ensure that due care is taken when spending skills and ISK as we will be unable to reverse ISK/SP spending in future. "
As you can see the phrase "due care" stings a bit to those who used their SP carefully but got smacked in the face with the severity of the changes. For example. How where HMG users to know that their precious gun got such a nasty nerf on range? How where the mass driver users to know that the nerf on damage and splash radius would affect the weapons so horribly because of desync issues and shield buffs to suits; The list goes on.
The meaning of this post is to kill two birds with one stone. The first bird is an apology because even when we knew some of the changes done to some of the weapons there where others, like keyboard / mouse changes, range changes that where posted after most people had put skill points into their weapons, changes to the mass driver, etc. that where not announced and had great effect on the overall gameplay. The second bird is patch notes. I would like a formal apology from CCP because they have not provided complete or at least a comprehensive list of changes that make the player base able to choose with "DUE CARE" what to invest their hard earned SP into because of the simple fact the there is no information on any of the changes done to some of these areas. |

You should have spent your SP on core skills so that no matter what happens you'l at least be able to start speccing into the FOTM.
there will always be changes - nerfs, buffs new weapons or just some player figuring out how to neuter the current OP fit with existing weaponry.
Just as what you've specced into might be UP, as the balance changes it'll come full circle in a while as one thing or another is tweaked or a new weapon is added.
If you find the current state of the game distasteful you do have the option to not play for a while and then come back to a nice pile of passive SP that you can use to try whatever weapon you want.

HTFU. ^^^^ Core skills ALWAYS come before weaponry. Get that fitting power up, harden that armor, extend those shields, increase your hacking speed, bolster your stamina, etc. Things like this will always give you an edge no matter where you are or what you're doing.
I'm not saying it doesn't suck to spec into something only to have it get smacked by the nerf bat. And in DUST's case, they swing the nerf (and buff) hammers around a lot harder than they should be, overcompensating for problems. We can see that they are now understanding this is not the proper way, and are making small, tactical nerfs to the TAR right now. Small buffs will come on underwhelming weapons to bring them in line as well, making the game play less one-sidedly.
I don't like saying HTFU all the time to the DUST community because it's so new, but it fits in this case. All skills, modules, and dropsuits are subject to change at will by CCP. They don't owe you an apology, sorry. |

here here!! How DARE! CCP spend 100's of $1000's of dollars to make a FREE game then word a auto reply email badly.
The fact that you feel so self entitled that you can DEMAND an apology is not only ridiculous it's juvenile.
If you don't like it don't play, but don't think for a minute that the company that GAVE you a game owes you anything. |

OH WAIT, I DID THAT AND GOT SHAFTED BECAUSE THE DESCRIPTION WAS WRONG.
Core skills like Vehicle Shield Extension so my Shield Extenders would cost less CPU because I was cost-cutting and running Militia gear...
OH WAIT, I DID THAT, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK ON MILITIA MODULES AT FIRST, SO I STILL HAD TO FIND A WORKAROUND AS IF I DIDN'T HAVE THE SKILL.
...yeah, they screwed up. Sorry, but no amount of "should have done this" is going to negate the fact that CCP screwed up. |

First off some Core skills cost more than most skills in the tree. Second Core skills can only get you so far. Third this post was about CCP not giving full info on the changes made therefore people could not use their brains. Fourth, this is not eve and those core skills help a lot less in dust than they do in eve.
CCP did not tell players about all changes made and therefore no matter how much reading and stat warrioring was done, no one could have done any "speccing" with due care.
